Kagawa deal should be tied up in the very near future... Reportedly on £45k a week (double his current wages)

Really pleased, great energy and will add to our sometimes very predictable attack.
    Now Fergie....Fellaini please :D

You guys pleased with the deal? and who else do you want to see coming in?

Quality player, bargain buy. Looks like he could be named Bundeliga player of the year, quite an achievement seeing as a team from that league were a penalty shootout from being the best team in Europe. He is not as naturally talented as Hazard, but at this current moment he is probably the more complete player.

Good player from what I've seen and certainly adds something new to the team. Plus the price is a bargain in today's market. Very pleased

Rather signings like Kagawa than Hazzard every day of the week.

Happy enough, although I've not seen enough of him to be able to confidently comment. What I do know is that we didn't need another left winger for 40 million on 200k a week and if we got Schweinsteiger for instance I might get a little (massive actually) hard on at the prospects.

Fellaini is a very good player though, you are right. We could do with that steel in CM alongside Kagawa and, perhaps, Carrick.

We can take Baines off them too, all we'd need then is a stiker. Ba or Cisse if we're looking for cheapness.

Ba would only cost 7 million because of the relase clause but cisse would be mega money.

Baines, I actually rate him quite highly, however would that mean selling Evra straight away or what? Although Evra has started to decline, I think we need stability at the back, and players who know how things go. Smalling and Jones are young, and Vidic or Rio could easily pick up an injury. Then what?
Baines/ Smalling/Evans/Jones as a back 4 still scares me slightly.
Baines is good enough to be first choice, however I didn't like how Berba was treated, and I don't want to see Evra just get dumped on the bench too.

A striker would be good too, Cisse would be quality, but not cheap. Not interested in Ba.

I can't see that happening though, Evra is a workhorse which Ferguson appreciates so I can't really see him being just discarded. It has worked against him also as he's the only left back of any quality we possess and as such he's been over worked, his performances have suffered as a result.

We can't be too sentimental, we need a left back and as it goes we also need a right back but with the possibility of Nathanial Clyne coming in and the versitility of Smalling and Jones I'm less worried about that.

Tis true that Cisse might not be dirt cheap but as he won't be playing in the euro's his value won't rise and he might sneak under the radar. Ba is an excellent finisher who would be dirt cheap and wouldn't be mithering about being first choice. He could play thirty or so games and score plenty goals, definitely, and fits the No. 9 bill which we do not have at present.

Went to see Dortmund play earlier this season when they beat Köln 5-0 in October. He was absolutely immense, his passing and vision was exceptional in that match and his dribbling wasn't bad either. He's deceptively pacey, doesn't look like he's running that quick and then he's past the defender like that. Since going I've watched a further 10-15 dortmund games and I have no doubts he'd be able to play in the premiership and be a great player for United. Kind of torn over the deal though as Dortmund had something perfect this season and I don't want their team to change, but I also want to watch him to progress as a player and obviously United is a step up from Dortmund.

At £12 million potentially rising to £17 million this is a very good deal and you've done well with this one.

I don't see the point in having both Evra and Baines to be honest. Waste of wages imo. I'd love to see Baines at United, but next season possibly.
One of them has to be on the bench, and it's important to keep your back four consistent every week. Evra can't be sitting on the bench with the wages he's on.

Apparently we're interested in Cisse, he's got great movement, confidence to try anything, would thrive here with our wingers, but would Probably cost £25 million though, and I just don't know if Ba is good enough to play 30 games for us. I actually would have liked Jelavic, he kind of reminds me of Ruud.

However, as Lampard has shown for years, a consistent goalscoring midfielder is such a valuable asset, so if Kagawa was able to score 12-15 goals a season we may not need another foward so desperately.

I'm pleased with the players we're being linked with though, so excited for the summer. Provided we bring in another centre midfielder, anything else is a bonus.

Yeah, I watched that game too, he was insanely good.

Didn't he score a hatrick and set up the other two? lol

I think Ba would be good enough, maybe not fit enough for a full 60 game season. The point being he'd be cheap, tried and tested, and would likely as much be accepting of being third or even fourth choice. He went missing when Cisse turned up, who is the better player, but was also pushed wider. Cisse is better though, definitely and if getable then great.

As for Baines, time doesn't stand still and it could be Evra would indeed have to leave. Full back is one of those positions where there is a first choice and a reserve rather than rotation, I agree defence needs to be settled. If we don't get Baines now though, we might never and Evra could turn in a bad season if he is deteriorating.

Ryan, one of the reasons i'm confident in Kagawa when I wasn't so much in Hazard is due to the quality of German football. It's close to our way of play too, I'd really like Schweinstieger alongside him if possible.

True, it's a balancing act to be honest.... We need to be settled, but Evra is declining. I guess they could be rotated (Richards/ Zabaleta style) - and having depth isn't really a bad thing.
It all depends on the price, if Baines would be £7 or 8 million maybe it's worth doing it this summer. Alaba has been linked too, and he'd be good also.

It's funny, but if we'd have got Essien all those years back we'd have been sured up for years.

    Erm, not in that game.

He scored one and I think he assisted one, but he was involved in every positive move from Dortmund and truth be told they could have won 10-0 and Kagawa could have had a handful of assists, but they were quite wasteful and playing to impress once the win was in the bag.

    Oh no sorry.... just checked.

It was in the 6-1 away win that he scored a hatrick. <ok>

Yes, before I went to the the match I'd never really taken an interest in the Bundesliga and assumed La Liga was the second best. Now I'm not so sure, the Bundesliga had many teams challenging the title until the last few weeks and look at Cisse, he played for relegation threatened team! Also, pretty much every team lives within themselves and make a profit, whereas in Spain most of the teams are terribly run in a financial sense. The attendances and and fans are great as the prices haven't been escalated like they have in other countries.

Anyway, back to Kagawa, I think it's fair to say that he has proven himself more than Hazard and has better attitude and team ethic too. Not so sure you'll get Schweinsteiger, but maybe a M'Vila type player would go great with him in midfield.

Oh right haha, I didn't know that. His goalscoring is very impressive, he's a very calm finisher for a midfielder

I doubt we'll get him either, I've been papping on about him for three or four seasons now!

Still, after that CL final defeat he might just fancy a challenge elsewhere and he is exactly the type of player we'd need to supplement the likes of Kagawa.
