Can we now expect a transformation of the scousers and see them challenging us for the title or at least the top four? This is what they have been craving for. The Carling Cup was not the stepping stone for that buffoon after all... <laugh>

IMO Rodgers is a 100% much better manager than KKK will ever be. But will the scousers appreciate him and will they start plotting his sacking as soon as they lose a match against us (and if he is not rude to Fergie...)

I imagine many Liverpool fans will arrogantly see Rodgers as not being good enough for them. I doubt he will have the fans' full support from the start.

He seems like a good Manager though.

His first attribute if he wishes to stay on the right side of his moronic fans will be ...to be rude to Fergie. If he does that, he'll be their hero within a few weeks.

Good manager but unfortunately the majority of Liverpool fans will give him no time or respect. Some clowns on SSNews were calling for Guardiola or Mourinho...stop living in the past.

Will be driven out and all his hardwork at Swansea will be forever forgotten.

In the Premier League right now only the Chelsea job compares to the Liverpool one in terms of it being a poisoned chalice.

Feel sorry for him. The amount of pressure that will be on him from the owners and fans will be ridiculous. They will sack him if they do not get 4th spot next season.

So... where does that leave Andy "The Lumberjack" Carroll?

Admired Rodgers and Swansea for the style of football they played last season. However I wonder what changed his mind? The cynic may say money but I don't know. He'll be better than KK but then again who wouldn't? However Henry is a hard task master. He said 4th place last season and fired KK when he failed. I wonder what target he'll set this time around? The man needs time to change that team. I actually suspect he'll be given some time and may within 2-3 seasons push Liverpool given the correct signings back into the top 4. Maybe. Time will tell. One is certain, I'd be surprised to see that goat Carroll featuring much more in a team of Rodgers.

The scousers are talking about a huge risk. They think that an ex-Swansea manager is beneath them. They think they should be hunting for the likes of Guardiola, Mourinho, AVB.

They forget they are mid table fodder and no top manager will be keen to join them especially if their moronic fans have no appreciation of good football and pine for their buffoon KKK at the first sign of trouble.

Even with his experience, I think he will struggle to keep them in the premier league

Absolutely gutted that Rodgers has gone to Liverpool for a few reasons.

The first being that as I live in Swansea I wish them all the success they can get and he as a very, very good fit for the club. He's was an up and coming manager at an up and coming club, he played football in an attractive enough way, stepping up from Paulo Sousa's better to draw than lose attitude while still making sure they kept possession and the ball on the deck.
I genuinely think in a couple more seasons he could have consolidated the Swans' position in the premier league, a bit like Martinez has with Wigan but while being more comfortable against the threat of relegation.

Going to Liverpool is too soon, the expectation and pressure will be too much I feel and could set his career back by a good few years. He's 39, too young for a job where the new owners have sacked the previous manager, allegedly, for not making fourth. It will take Rodgers three seasons to be able to get his head round preparing Liverpool for fourth, let alone european competition, and I reckon this will **** up his career quite frankly.

Well he's gone which happens , the bigger concern is if he comes in for some of our players , the moneys ok but to replace like for like players who are comfortable with the ball won't be easy.I don't think liverpool are set up yet to play his way and certainly carol is no danny graham

I am VERY happy that the scousers have recruited Rodgers. They will play very pretty football and TBH I think they could go two ways: their players could all embrace the new philosophy and play a passing game ala Barca or they could rebel ala the Chavs and AVB. I think benitez would have been more dangerous. He knows the place and the players. And the crowd. He would have landed on his feet and got running...

Most exciting season: what price The scousers fighting relegation?

Who are these Liverpool fans who want Rodgers out already or aren't backing him? You guys make this **** up as you go...
The only people criticising the appointment are the morons who call into Talksh*te or ssn who are too stupid to have a valid opinion. I also wouldn't regard them as fans.

He's a great choice for manager and will be given time - despite what many people believe following on from the crap media stories.

Before you defend 'Sir Roy of Hodgson', lets see how he does at England first and whether he claims a draw against Sweden is a 'fantastic result' for this country. He's a blundering, blubbering idiot (even you lot question his dodgy as **** England team) and he'll be hounded out soon enough.
