You have got yourself a good manager in Rodgers, and a thoroughly nice fella but to be honest with you i fear that if he does not get you in the top 4 next season i think your American owners may ditch him for a big name manager, I say this because they will be expecting a return on the big investment they have paid us for his services. So no animosity here from a swans fan, we will move on and trust our board to continue getting our annual search for a manager. So good luck and we will see you next season. Cheers Mabon
I don't think he'll be axed if he fails to get top 4, as long as we're heading in the right direction performance wise. Realistically, the board will be aiming for top 4 the season after next, but challenging and being closer on points in the forthcoming season than we were this year. Thanks for the positive post! Best of luck to yourselves next year, I hope you find the right man to keep you moving forward. Really like what Swansea are doing so far in the PL (but I hope we thrash you home and away of course
I hope they do give him time and I for one wish him all the best. I hope Swansea get a good replacement too as you were a pleasure to watch last year just wish we'd got him in time to snatch The Sig before you signed him
Thanks for that I have been saying it since KK left; we need to be more realistic with the new manager. I think he will be given time, and I can see us battling for a top 4 place next season. As long as we are in with a shot going into the last weeks of the season, that will be progress in my eyes
swansea should go get martinez just to annoy whelan. God i dearly hope he's rock bottom 20th next year cos he's a muppet.
If fans and owners were too impatient to give Kenny time I fail to see where all this patience is going to come from. It's not like Lucas or Skrtel got much, either. Now it's Downing and Henderson. Patience is very thin on the ground.
Stupid Tory cutbacks I know where your coming from and frankly, as he won't be everyones cup of rosy, then no doubt he will get sod all leeway with some but I for one will give him a few weeks to sort things out
Don`t you think that is a sad comment as your club has been publicly courting his manager. He even had the good grace to allow your club talks.
I think he just needs time to try and adapt the team to the way he likes to play. Hopefully we don't have too many players at the Olympics so they can all have a fully pre-season to try and learn. I think the first past of the season we won't see massive improvement but come the 2nd half of the season and next year we'll see his style being implemented. I don't think there was too much between Martinez & Rodgers but I'm glad we've tried to sign younger players and gone for a younger manager with new ideas.
like you have the right to take who you want. how would you like it if the Swansea faithful wished you got relegation because you actually did take their manager..yet your having kittens about a chairman looking after his own intrests. what an abnoxious attitude..you should be happy you got a good manager in..and not slating Wigan..a well run club if you ask me.
It wasn't that he wanted to keep Martinez, thats understandable, it was the needless interviews everyday giving updates on the situation and peddling speculation in the media as fact.
Whelan's actions probably kept Martinez at Wigan, while at the same time he gets brownie points for allowing Roberto to talk to you. That's a shrewd operator in my book. As for muppets, what about the person who decided that sacking Kenny Dalglish was a good idea?
because he wanted to keep Martinez therefore did his best to jeopordise the deal within the laws..i dont blame him..im sure he would have done it no matter what club was intrested. MITO my apology for calling you a dik..not called for...but you behaved like a typical sky 4 club with that comment so i replied..edited it.
