To be honest, I don't think it will. We'll get cocky if we're brilliant on the pitch, but until then, dour Yorkshireman mode will be firmly switched on. The club's options at the moment are as follows: 1 - Investment where Bates stays on as Chairman, whether on a temporary (e.g. Reading) or permanent basis (unlikely if you believe rumours about his health), bankrolled by one of the figures below... 2 - Takeover where we are run by: a) A consortium from Chicago/Canada who'd probably keep a business focus; b) A local investor fronted by Adam Pearson who'd probably invest sufficiently, but not to Leicester levels of madness; c) The third group, about whom there has been endless speculation from Saudi billionaire to Kuwaiti property magnate to Freddy Shepherd. 3 - The status quo remains since the Club couldn't reach an agreement with any of the parties above. Fans riot. Although we probably will end up overspending since there'll be a transfer embargo till the talks finish, and that looks like it could be some time away. Whichever way it goes, there's going to be change on the horizon of one kind or the other.
I assume you retain your stance of hating those who spend beyond their means (something Leeds will end up doing) if you get one of these filthy rich owners?
I'll fully accept other fans' criticism if we do end up that way, yes. I was actually smiling this morning when I saw the news that a Kuwaiti multi-millionaire/billionaire is probably taking over Forest or Blackburn rather than us. I want a local benefactor with his head firmly on his shoulders.
Good ol' boy You may turn your nose up at it now, but you won't be able to contain yourself knowing you can sign anybody who is willing to play in this division. You'll also think you'll win the league at the first attempt, well, maybe not because you'll have learnt from our mistakes But seriously, should be good if England gets a good Leeds side again (being honest). Here's to us both fighting for promotion this season while leaving Dull in our wake
