We are talking Leeds and Burnley, the sort nof clubs whos fans ( not all but a decent number ) think fighting is a good thing. Builds character as some might say.

Ive lived in Burnley in the past as I said and currently live 5 mins from Elland Road.......not always but at times, too many times it becomes a no go area before during and after leeds play.

And yet it's been ages since I can remember any fighting at Elland Road that's lasted more than 30 seconds, and even that was only two Leeds fans in the home end.

The threatening atmosphere IS something to be proud of. Both having and visiting a welcoming/neutral ground is boring. It gives your team and your club an edge if you can make it hostile. UIR, don't tell me you'd rather fans could walk around in their colours for Leeds vs Man U games. It's part of the excitement knowing you're in enemy territory and there's a baying mob round every corner.

And Watford R, hasn't football violence always been instigated by 'spotty youths'? Look back at some pictures from the bad old days and tell me the main ringleaders in the lte 70s and early 80s were honestly the sort of neo-Nazi meatheads the hooligan stereotype dictates they are. For what it's worth, Leeds have a 'youth firm' who hold fights with other teams' fans away from grounds to minimize the impact on innocent people.

Conclusion: it's not for me, but hooliganism is firstly overblown and secondly needlessly castigated when in fact it's proportionate to the violence you'd expect in any concentrated area full of people who've been consuming alcohol like a gig or town centre on a Saturday night. Possibly less than the latter, even.

Although it's still a favourite pastime of many to scoff at 'England's disease' when in fact it's just a hobby for a small number of people who aren't really doing much harm at all. And a great way for coppers to get some overtime and go on a baton/horse/mutt rampage to ease their mental anguish about having such a ****e job.

And congratulations on your millions of fans, Man U. I actually don't hold that against your club, although it's obviously funny to laugh at the dicks who support you because they fancied David Beckham, and still walk around in Ronaldo 7 shirts, thinking he's your best player at the moment.

Now I wouldnt argue that Man Utd are probably the most supported team in the world. But this article claims that basically 40% of all fans support Man Utd.....I hate to say it, but that has to be bollox.....
    40% of all football fans???????
I dont have any evidence to say its bollocks, but it must be...Certainly 40% of follwers in the Uk and Europe are not Man Utd fans

Many companies pay independant sources specifically to check without the bias that would come if they did it in-house.

The fact we commisioned it is also far from proof that the second biggest market research company (which is what we've done, paid them to evaluate potential markets for us) in the world would risk its integrity by trying to influence results.

A German market research company also came out with United having by far the most fans worldwide last year.

Although their sample size was a lot smaller than the one just conducted.

Might be able to quibble about how accurate the final figure is, but one thing you can't argue is United have a lot more fans than any other club.

I don't think anyone is arguing about that, indeed the figures I give have ManU far ahead. We all know that.It is the size of the difference that I don't believe. As I say,one done by an independent group one paid for by ManU.I know which I trust more.

"The US carmaker said Manchester United stood "head and shoulders" above other football teams.
GM's UK-based Vauxhall business sponsors the England football team.
Chevrolet replaces Audi as Manchester United's car sponsor.
The German brand had sponsored the football club since April 2004.
GM said it hoped the deal would help it "build global icon status" for Chevrolet."

As long as you dont go on a mad spending spree you will be ok. No spending £90million on 2 players and £6million on an agent sort of stuff.

You have a lot of players coming off your wage bill in the next year or so so that will help your wage bill as long as you dont replace them with players on bigger wages..... like £100,000 a week after tax.....

Truth is Roman could make a massive mistake this summer, hes took far to long to replace players and I imagine he plans to do most of it this summer which will make your chances of passing FFP less secure.

you have spent or are about to spend around 40-50 already. You are linked with a few others and Hulk looks likely (£30+million est ). Few others here and there and suddenly you have hit £100million. Factor in wages and its closer to £200million

Hazard will be on 45million over the course of his contract if reports are true.

Hulk wont accept much less will he, the fact you will have a 21 year old on £170,000 a week will cause you huge issues down the line as other players will want parity. Hulk will be one. Mata, Torres, Cahill etc will want similar levels if they dont already get them.

Theres a reason City didnt buy Hazard, FFP. The wages and agents fees demanded of City and Chelsea were likely much higher than at United. City stuck at £110k a week if reports are true, United probably less than that ( £80000 ). All offers were accepted by the club and player yet Chelsea get him at a cost of around £90million* so you can see why hes gone to you. Its an insane figure for a 21 year old.

    2008 - £137.6m
    2009 - £142.6m
    2010 - £161.3m
    2011 - £156.6m

You can see are wage bill is slowly coming down

You're only going by newspaper drivel. We have won money through the CL aswell as offloading three highly paid players and probably a couple more.

Some papers say Hazard will be on 100k, some say 200k so I wouldn't take what any of them say seriously.

In conclusion, our CL winnings will pay for the fees of Hazard/Hulk and their wages are paid for from offloading the said players.

Oh and UIR, City aren't buying Hazard because he announced he wanted to play for us.
