sigurdsson is young though and will definitely have re-sale value. if swansea went down they could sell him and at least get close to what they paid for him, even if he struggles a bit. its less of a risk to sign young players - thats why qpr were so lucky last year as nearly all their players they bought would have little re-sale value and be on massive wages - they;d have been difficult to shift
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ells-Canadian-consortium-offer-80m-Leeds.html Surely if this story is true, they will continue to have Bates as owner?
It's not true. We have an interested party from Chicago who have already looked round ER etc. and a super-rich Kuwaiti is supposedly buying either us or Forest. Also it's widely accepted that the term "long term investment" really means takeover.
Ain't it funny how you believe the stuff that isn't confirmed when it suits you, yet when its something you don't want to happen, you always give the line until its confirmed by the club, I won't believe it. This whole Kuwaiti takeover looks like bollocks to me. Just wild rumours with no substance as far as I've seen.
What are you on about? I'm working on info from the people we've learned we can trust when it comes to the club. I think it's fair to say The Daily Fail isn't one of those sources. I also haven't believed what the club say for a long time. This Kuwaiti was on telly last night claiming to be buying a 2nd division club with great history.
Phil Hay at the YEP, Andrew Haigh at the Sun and L.U.S.T. mainly, there are also those on twitter who are "in the know" who have predicted things before. I have, but it's hard to get too much of it since it's in Arabic . What those who do speak it are saying is that he's taking over a 2nd division club with a great history who will be managed by Neil Warnock, so it's either us or he's buying Forest and is poaching Colin. Knowing our luck it will be the latter.
The main thing for me is that the club have confirmed bids have been tabled!! This Kuwaiti guy seems too good to be true however he did step down from his post in Kuwait (where he funded the team to win the top division 4 years on the spin) and said hes heading to England. The investors who are furthest down the negotiation line are billionaires from Chicago
If I were you, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Bates will hang on until he gets EXACTLY what he wants. To be honest, I don't see any point in having rich Kuwaiti owners, especially with the new FFP rules coming in soon.
Carra I think bates is struggling to hang on to his life hence why Leeds fans and the world haven't heard from him for months (you know how much he loves the sound of his own voice) This has a lot to do with the sale of the club im sure he planned to wait til we got to the premiership to get more money back
Rules are their to be bent, all football club owners will find some way of bending the rules. Its like with the salary cap in rugby Wigan athletic paid Adrian Lam 19,000k a year to play rugby for them and JJB sports paid £200,000k per year to his wife to stack shelfs Businessmen like these aren't stupid.
So Bates is dying? WTF As for the FFP rules being bent. I would imagine that any teams that have rich owners will be watched like a hawk on speed!
Carra Most of em have already put steps in place to bypass the rules. Man Uniteds 10 million shirt sponsor Man Citys £400 million stadiium deal Liverpools £35million rented donkey upfront haha
