So if a bookie had a supposed "concrete tip" that Rodgers was going to Liverpool, you're telling me they wouldn't drastically shorten his odds?! I'm not 100% "au faire" with how bookies work, granted, but I'm sure if one bookie heard from a supposedly reliable source that Buck was off, and the window they'd have to shorten his odds for was only a day, then it's worth doing to stop yourself losing shedloads of cash!
I'm feeling a bit gutted at the moment and I just have this feeling the decision has already been made and he will be Liverpools manager by next week.
I would think that if something is going to happen then we'll hear it today. I hope it doesn't drag on too long. I know fans don't like all this speculation, but imagine if no-one speculated at all. We'd wake up one day to Brendan gone with no warning whatsoever, completely unexpected and out of the blue. I think fans would object to that as well. They'd all wonder what had happened and why the press hadn't mentioned the possibility. The reason the press speculate is partly because the clubs won't tell them what's really going on. Maybe clubs and managers should be more honest. But fans would hate that as well.
When he came here two years ago he was unemployed & labelled a failure, by some. Now he has got us promoted & mid-table finish in our first premier season. The media has been crawling all over our style of football & the "architect" of it i.e. Brendan. Even though he has only blended together Bobby & Paul`s efforts. After all this media coverage of him this last year, then yes, I do think he is under the impression (rightly or wrongly) that he has a unique talent of transforming a club`s playing style. Anyway, as far as we know there has been no contact by `Pool for him up until now. If there is a phone call to Huw & Brendan wants to talk to them, then Huw should do the same as dodgy Dave & put a quick timescale on it. Personally, I don`t think he will leave as has been said, that job is a bit of a poisoned chalice, and he`ll soon find himself having a lot of spare time on his hands.
I think a concrete tip would, but even if they missed it the incoming bets would take care of it. The systems in place can automatically deal with these situations. So if Brendan was 10-1 and they ignored a tip and then someone tried to put 10K on him, the bookies would only let them put on maybe 500 and then they'd cut the odds to 2-1 for the other 9,500. Not exactly like that but along those lines. But no-one usually gives them concrete tips because if you have one you use it to make money yourself. Yes, then can shorten odds, but that means lengthening other odds. So they have to balance it out with the money that's coming in for all best. But yes, if a shedload of money is coming for only one manage then they would slash the odds to protect themselves. Other odds would lengthen, people would stop betting on the main person because odds were so low and then it would all adjust itself. It's a very dynamic system and mostly automated. Betfair kind of works like an automated system because there are 1000s of people laying and backing at the same time. So it adjust itself by the second, even spit second.

That is very puzzling indeed. But Martinez was suppose to have a press conference on Tuesday that didn't happen, so the Friday thing might not happen.Many places are reporting the Friday announcement (started by ESPN and/or Sky) but some are saying that Liverpool haven't said this and that they will take their time. If they are planning an announcement then it must mean they have chosen a manager and are tying up loose ends. If it's Brendan all the negotiating could have been done by the agents and the interview could be lined up for Thursday and could be seen as a formality. If Brendan really in line for the job then it will have been discussed in depth already and the interview will be to just cover the formalities. This is what happens often. It's not like a traditional job interview where you turn up and they let you know in a few days time. But it's just another bit of speculation to add to what we already have. But teh sort answer to your question is that he can be interviewed before Friday. It's only Wednesday today. And they haven't said that it's Brendan, so could be Roberto, or someone else. Or a totally made-up story.

No disrespect intended, but exactly who is Wyndham today to have the "stature" and be the authority on this subject. They might as well be quoting me ffs.
The BBC tried to contact you but you were unavailable, so they had to settle for Wyndham. Everyone else at the club was also unavailable because they have all taken a vow of silence and switched their phones off. They also tried Dave Whelan, but he's another one who's gone silent. There a lot of this silence around at the moment. Don't know what to make of it.
Even I agree it's speculation. But the question you should ask yourself is why the club aren't putting a stop to it by categorically stating that Brendan is not going to Liverpool. Would take then less than a minute to post an update on their website. Don't you think it's a little odd that they are staying silent? And please answer honestly. By the way, not revelling at all. Off work for a few days and time on my hands. I find speculating interesting. Doesn't mean I revel in it or want Brendan to leave. It's just interesting watching the secret maneuverings playing out. You can find out more from what they don't say than what they do say. It's just interesting that's all. Maybe you're too emotional for all this. Or maybe you are so naive that you think the club will let you know what's going on. The will eventually, but at the moment you don't matter to them. Just because they aren't saying anything doesn't mean nothing's happening. keep that head buried.

The decision has probable been made but wont be announced yet because other teams are involved, the only thing that we dont know is what has he decided and we will learn that when everyone is happy, friday looks the ideal time because martinez is making his statement then, Im hoping he will stay but its looking less unlikely as every hour passes.....whatever happens then we will just accept it and move on......
