Just wanted to thank you all for selling Torres to Chelsea. Any other striker would have finished that chance off! Hell, my granny would probably have scored it
swarbs are you embarrased by united fans singin you scouse bastard to a spaniard.. when yer striker and goalscorer is actually scouse ?
They also did it a month ago at SB,and the granny shagger who actually is from Liverpool was standing beside Torres.
I'm delighted that Torres has proved he wasn't just playing rubbish for us but actually is suffering from a MASSIVE dip in form. That said, I'd quite like him to score tonight.
Not really. I support United, I don't support our other fans. Their stupidity is all their own. The green and gold sheep are also a bunch of numpties in my opinion P.S. Yes, Chelsea should have had a penalty for the foul on Ramires. But Torres gets a 5.8 for artistic impression.
Yep, were mine too, but never mind. We did get the better half of the Torres deal though. He has played absolute ****e since moving there - in fact all season. The winners of this comp will be Barca by a country mile. Pure class.
I have to say I went into the game as a neutral but couldnt help supporting Man U to win. I just hate everything Chelsea stand for. Add Torres to that then you'v got one **** of a team. Anyone notice how quiet the Bridge was when their team realy needed the support? Plastic fans, plastic team.
Chelsea were not god, United weren't great either but they did what the needed to. United rode their luck a bit with the pen shout and the post and some poor shots by Chelsea too. Chelsea have to go for it next game no sitting back. Should make for a good game, probably the best result for the neutral in the next game. It looks difficult but it is not over thats for sure. Will United try to be cagey now they have a 1 0 lead, did they go ahead in the tie too early? if Chelsea's forwards play like that again it is good night. Spurs, have been shown up for what they arem I still cant believe they thought they were getting a result there, I htink the sending off prevented the game from being 8 or 9 0 as it would have been more open. Harry's gamble for personal glory as he's off to th england job after capello means they wont be playing cl footy next year. Unless tey win this tournament. If Arry had concentrated on the league this year cl footy would have been all but guarenteed as results worked out. Barca dispatched yet another opponent 5 1.
Was ****ing raging after the penalty shout cos I had the draw in my accumulator! That would have meant Evra out of the second leg too because it was a straight red card. Also, is the assistant referee on the line purely for seeing if the ball is over the line or not???? He really needs to grow a set of balls before he officiates in a game again!
It was a clear a penalty as there ever was one.It was more of a penalty than the one West Brom got on saturday against us and United got against West Ham.Firstly how can you give a penalty from a handball that was 3 yards away?,Secondly Soto won the ball on saturday. No penalty.I've no complaints about the second one,as referees always give it when the keeper comes out like that. But that one last night was a blatant penalty.
Yes, it WAS a penalty. No doubt. But; 1. Ramires shouldn't have been on the pitch at 93mins anyway - if you need to know why, try watching the match again, especially the way he targeted Shrek throughout. 2. The ref ****ed up - but you seem to want to blame Manyoo for that. Silly. 3. Don't go on about Manyoo's luck - they've had NONE at SB for ages and have, as we all know, been totally robbed there by refs on several occasions recently.
He's supposed to be there for everything, but in practice I've never seen them give anything other than corners / goal kicks and fouls against attackers for pushing in the box. I think some of them may have called handballs, but none of them ever seems to make a decision on an actual foul. I think the refs are unwilling to disrupt the play to consult them, and the assistants are unwilling to overrule the ref once he appears to have made up his mind. Either way, a very lucky escape... How can you give a penalty from a handball that was 3 yards away? Good question. Of course Evra was only one yard away from Carlton Cole when he conceded a penalty for handball against West Ham
This thread aint all about United got lucky or the ref this that, its about the tie, mancs jumping over one line or two in entire posts. Swarbs, fyi, it was a pen because he raised both arms out from his body hence negating the ball to arm debate, his arms were up and out and he turned to make a great save which is hand to ball or arm in this case. A definate penalty by any definition. ((!!I care not if the ref missed it!!)) or that it wasn't given, understandable, it happened very quickly no complaints here, but it was a bit lucky, Evra should have gone red and a penalty, very lucky as that could have completely changed the game, again I care not, it was a poor game and hard for the neutral to actually get excited about it, no skill no passion just cagey dross that I hope is not repeated in the second leg, look at Schalke inter 2 5 Barca SD 5 1 Real madrid 4 0 United chelsea a very boring boring 0 1 Sooner ye both go out the better for the neutral tbh
