Interesting hardline stance, we'd be left with a squad of 3 if we adopted this. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...setup-after-national-anthem-snub-7793873.html Have to say it's never bothered me as I'm patriotic but not a royalist so struggle with the anthem myself, but I imagine a few would agree with this.
As much as I appreciate what he's trying to do, it's far too tough. Doesn't help that Ljajic is a quality player, they'll miss him.
The new bread of International footballer just doesn't care – the England team is a prime example. I remember watching the likes of Seaman, Adams, Pearce, Lineker, Shearer et al belting out the anthem with a great deal of pride – it just doesn’t happen now. Fair enough, they might not be royalist, but the anthem is still a show of English pride – that’s why the England band always play it during the game. Makes it even worse when we’ve had to watch a Swede and an Italian looking solemn faced when the anthem is being sung.
I agree. Let's get the old guard of Messrs Hovis, Warburton, Allinson and (erm) Mother's Pride back in the England fold
Wheat a load of nonsense this all is and if you ask me, the uncaring modern footballer is just the nature of the yeast.
Serbia need all their top players. I'm fairly certain when the groups were being drawn they weren't even in the seeded batch. I'll get my coat.
Seems he's become a cause célèbre. Pictures of him are selling like hot cakes and they're rejigging news items so his interviews can be sandwiched in. Market it right and he'll not go short of dough.
He'll need to use his loaf but if so, you could be right. There's a lot of controversy over this with many saying it could lead to war but tonnes others saying it's media hype. Seeing as the thread has already degenerated based on a typo... how do you sign a national anthem?
