Manchester United fans are not very fond of Liverpool football club or anyone who has played for them.
They feel that once you've worn the red of Liverpool, you are tainted somehow.

It doesn't really explain how they react to Michael Owen though... <cheers>

    Spliff up, sick boy.

Don't take it so literally Sword. When United fans say "scouse", they're referring to anything with Liverpudlian connections. Though Torres is a Spaniard playing for a London team, he still has a strong scouse connection due to 3 and a half recent years at Anfield. Rooney though, due to nearly 7 years at OT and the many trophies he's helped us win in that period, is an honorary manc. He doesn't even live in Liverpool anymore. So we don't consider ourselves to be insulting him when we say "scouse bastard".

As for Michael Owen, he was born in Wales, now lives in Cheshire. He plays for United. He left Liverpool in 2004, and has now spent nearly as many years playing professional football away from LFC, as he did playing with them. So he's less of a scouser than Torres to us <ok>
