Good Morning everyone, Yes, thats right Folks, the Daily Mail this morning reports :- The report starts that a mystery Canadian consortium want to buy Leeds for 40m, Bates has said double your offer and I'll walk away Ken Bates wants a mystery Canadian consortium seeking to buy Leeds United for £40million to double their offer. In a statement on Tuesday, the club welcomed the potential investment but stressed ‘the quality of the investor is the most important factor in terms of the long-term development of Leeds United’. (HMMMM, McKenzie, Ridsdale, Bates, what do they mean)??? The Canadians are not keen though to stretch to 80m as they will not own either Thorp Arch or Elland Road...... Other news, Lees has signed a 4 year deal, good news or too little too late??? Its been reported Leeds are offering £500,000 for Lesta's Lee Peltier? Where's the money coming from??? Latest Reports overnight suggest that Kuwaiti businessman Fawaz al-Hasawi, chairman of the Qadsia club, is preparing a bid for English side Leeds United. The talk is that there is unlimited potential at Leeds which is the 4th biggest city in the UK Todays debate. What would you do for 80 million pounds??? We would like to say a quick thank you to all the newbies that have joined the Leeds board in the last week. Its fantastic to have some new posters
I do think in fairness to Bates that Leeds is worth closer to 80m than 40m. I understand that they won't own either Elland Road or Thorp Arch but there is a lot of potential with a club like leeds Morning btw elland
Morning!! Well, with £80m I'd buy Terry, Young, Suarez and Van Persie and make them train with the Under-18s and play in the Reserves!! Bunch of twats and stinky divers who ruin football.
Not sure how we can be valued at £80 million all things considered, the squad value is peanuts and potential would mean an even greater investment, yes potential if you can throw a few million at it and win promotion. A worry if this report is true as they seem a long way apart.
I really hope these Kuwaity rumours are true. When I started reading it, it seemed like a wind up, but seeing as a news corp, that I think he owns was tweeting it, then I started to believe it a bit more. One of his relatives tweeted he was 90% sure it was Leeds, 10% on Forest. They said he'd already bought the club though.
Apparently he said on telly he'd bought an English football club and Warnock was going to be the manager, so either it's us or he's nicking Colin.
I saw that he'd mention Warnock, but nobody seemed to be talking about why, or in any context. Seems odd that we don't have a full translation, or that there's no video footage of this televised interview.
He also apparently said the club has a great history. Someone who seems to know him is congratulating him on buying Leeds United on twitter.
He was quoted as saying he was close to acquiring a “second tier English club” with “a big history in football.” Must be Forest then
http://twitter.com/#!/Saleh_Aloumi Also the club he's just resigned from posted in arabic (translated): "After Mr. Fawaz Al hasawi agreement similarities with English club. Almnshn "excited" by the English audience, particularly Leeds fans!"
