A mate of mine went to see him, he also said he was brilliant, on top of that, he was also on stage over an hour longer than scheduled.
Absolutely detest Frankie Boyle. Awful jokes - yeah, we get it, scotland is stuck in 1980 got any new material. Saw him in Yarmouth a few years a go. He completely lost the crowd said Yarmoutha crap too often and his jokes about the occupations of members of the audience was dire. A good comedian I've seen is Reginald D Hunter.
Like him more in film than as a stand-up, but this one made me chuckle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ja90EpsZ7Zs
Seen Frankie Boyle live twice now, probably wouldn't see him again but the material was very funny. At least you know what you're getting... some of the stuff was so dodgy they couldn't even include it on the DVD. Not stand up as such but Axis of Awesome are a hilarious comedy band. The 4 chord song is brilliant and their instructional songs are brilliant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pidokakU4I
Love the Axis of Awesome. Have you seen their KFC song Rich?
I love watching Rhett and Link. Those guys come up with so many funny, original concepts. Here's are some examples:
As has already been mentioned us Brits have a superb range of comedians and stand-ups in particular, but this American called Gabriel Iglesias is worth a look... Well he made me laugh anyways! Yes mate, have you got their DVD? I got it last year I think we sat and watched it one evening not knowing what to expect as it was before they'd done anything over here (much) and thought it was hilarious. The instructional songs are great I love "how to kill a hooker" and not to forget "how to bake a scone" and not forgetting the classic "Bird Plane"
Rob Newman gets my vote.
personally don't think you can beat Bill Hicks though I do like Stewart Lee too. Favourite comedy sketch is this though...
I love sketch comedy and in my opinion there hasn't been many better than our very own Stephen Fry when he was better known as one half of "A Bit of Fry & Laurie". This is one of my very favourite sketches of all time, nice Norfolk connection to it as well
You know, I always laugh politely at that sketch, but I have to say, I listen very carefully each and every time, and it really does sound like he asks for four candles to me! Am I missing something here????
I alway thought that the GUV'NER Mike Read was Triffic.......Popped into a Jewish pub round the corner its called 'THE KOSHER HORSE'S. WALLOP........HAVE SOME OF THAT...
i used to love The Mary Whitehouse Experience - My best mate and I would do endless History Today related gags at each other in high school.
