If Brendan leaves then there is a chance that he won't sign, even though everything is agreed. He could still pull out unless he's already signed subject to medical. I don't think he will pull out, but it's a small possibility. So better keep champagne on ice until he does.

I agree, thats why I think if Liverpool make a second approach HJ may refuse permission on the grounds that we could lose the Sig AND Brendan had the option to say he was interested in the job the first time they came calling.

    I agree with casual.

The proverbial "Fat Lady" doesn't start to sing until she opens her mouth, and Sigurdsson doesn't become a Swansea City player until he ACTUALLY signs a contract.

Now I'm no lawyer, but my understanding of The Law is that, until the contract is signed, all parties can simply walk away.

Don't know if you boys have heard that the takeover of Reading went through today, but it has, and a poster on their forum hobnob is a bit of an itk and called this would happen today, and that they are putting together a deal to sign Sigurdsson.

If Sig considers rejecting the deal because Rodgers might not be with us , I'm sure we can re-spend the 7 million just as wise , along with the 4 million from Rodgers going to Liverpool ..

If he does reject it, I doubt Hoffenheim will agree the same transfer fee when other clubs come sniffing!

Guys, have you not read the official statement?

Swansea and Hoffenheim has agreed a fee for Gylfi Siggurdson. The player has agreed terms with Swansea. He is undergoing a medical, and should he pass, which he will, then the contract will be signed.

He's not going to agree terms, have a medical, and then turn around and say he's changed his mind.....Unless a big club put an offer in all of a sudden, but that won't happen in the next day or so.

Don't you think there is even a possibility of him changing his mind if Brendan leaves before he actually signs. I think Brendan has played a big part in getting him to agree to come here and i think Sig thinks Brendan will be good for his development. I know managers come and go and players can't just up an leave every time a manager changes. But if a player hasn't actually signed yet then he is bound to start wondering what life will be like under the new manager.

But other players have stayed through all the manager changes so hopefully he'll see that he's joining a great team and will still want to sign.

But I think there is at least a possibility that he'll change his mind. Maybe only a small possibility though. But much depends on Brendan's next move. I hope they both stay, as would could do really well with Brendan around for another year or two. He will leave one day but better later than sooner.

Depends really, I choose to believe positive things. If there was any actual quotes from ANYONE saying that Rodgers was off to Liverpool, then fair enough, but, well... there's not.

No!!!!! not the, Swansea awards:emoticon-0112-wonde :emoticon-0138-think omg i'm totally gutted. No i ain't seen it ducky. Now never mind lashing out at me and the superhoops you need to concentrate on getting a new manager who has good championship experience, so you can bounce back at the 1st attempt:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0105-wink:
Can't believe the way you lot are just chucking money around to sign these players £7 mill for one player, and you have a go at our owners, not the way to run a propa football club like the cygnets is it? Mind you like i said you ain't signed him yet and i think that super club reading will pinch him from under your noses, oh well never mind, you still got britton and allen<doh> unless he leaves too.
    ps manager suggestion Alex McCliesh!!!!

Well we're spending 7 mil because we earned it last year, not because some billionaire decided he wanted a new toy. I know that seems like a hard concept to grasp...

No quotes saying he's off to Liverpool because no-one knows yet. At the moment it's speculation, but he hasn't denied it. The Sig questioning is based on this speculation. All football fans speculate all the time. Nearly every thread on here is speculation. It would be a pretty boring forum if we didn't speculate. In fact we do it in all areas of life. We don't just sit back and wait to see what happens. If that was the case we wouldn't both with a pre-match thread - we'd just wait for the result before commenting.

I appreciate there is always speculation, but you were getting all "I told you so, it's happening" and there's no proof for that. I choose to believe he's staying, that's all. As I've said, if I'd seen ANY actual evidence he was off I'd be considering it, but I haven't.

Looks like you'll be hanging on to your money after all, never mind you lot sort of look ambitious, all that money and still can't spend it, perhaps Cardiff can show you how it's done, as they pass you on your way down<devil>:emoticon-0153-broke:bandit:<laugh>

I repeat my earlier statement - you play **** football and you almost got relegated. Our result has no bearing on that post, and your use of it as a pathetic attempt to goad me shows you are incapable of forming a coherent structured argument. Sit down, son.
