Sad thing is,that's probably the last chance for my lifetime. I was in Italy for the whole of the 90 World Cup and it was great, would have been nice to see it here, but given my opinion of the Olympics I'd be pushing it to be too upset. Saw what you did with the Liverpool reference too.....to be fair reckon the Scousers have a lot more reason to overrate themselves than England.
Personally planning to head to Brazil for the world cup regardless of if England make it or not - cannot wait - everything a world cup should be IMO I watched the England Norway game and groaned when Young scored - so much do I despise him after getting Derry sent off on his big day out.
I don't think you can line the two up as the same Swords. I think our WC bid and the stadia to be used was the best bid. On the other hand the 'we're gonna win the World Cup' mentality of sections of our support couldn't be based on facts, our team was never good enough and the managers, Sven and Fabio, never played the best players in the best system. Now we've passed that 'golden generation' and employed a 'belt & braces' manager prepare to be underwhelmed...
Is that why Oddball is supporting France instead of his own Country next month? Can't understand that to be honest.
