I think we need to forget the whole Brenda issue and move on. What happened happened and if we can get over the MM issue then we can so it now.

If I was Rodgers I'd rather stay at Swansea where is he loved and popular with the support of fans and players.

At Liverpol he will be expected to bring Champions league football to an average squad probaly without being able to spend that much and ofcourse the fans will sing about their "King"

Also he has to hate Man U because I remember Hodgson dared to praise them/Sir Alex Ferguson when he joined and really he never won the fans over from then on.

I think this situation is different to when he left us. He had unfinished business here, but by contrast I don't see what more he's likely to do at Swansea. If they were that bothered about the UEFA Cup they would have taken up the FAW's offer of playing in the Welsh Cup.

If their chairman has any sense, he's telling BR "if you're going to leave, you leave now. If you're still here in two weeks we will not allow you to leave under any circumstances." I don't think their Premier League survival is entirely dependent on BR staying, but if he's leaving his successor needs as much time as possible to prepare.

Brendan Rodgers is from the north in Ireland and the last time I heard Liverpool was the capital of Ireland with the police on holiday in New York so he should fit very well.

To be fair I wouldn't blame Brenda for going to Liverpool. It is a pretty juicy job and even if they grow tired of him after 8 weeks he's still clearly a talented manager although which clubs would take him on more than a year contract is open to question! That said I did laugh as I said to my Reading friends last week "I see Brendan has ruled himself out for the Liverpool job. Wonder who his first signing will be when he gets there in a couple of weeks?"

The BBC's Midlands Football Reporter Pat Murphy reports Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to be confirmed as the new Liverpool manager in the next 48 hours. The clubs are understood to be discussing compensation now.

    I thought this was funny.

    http://mbl.is/sport/enski/2012/05/30/aston_villa_vill_fa_martinez/

The first sentence of text when translated by google says
-English variety League Aston Villa manager is still vacant after the Scot Alex McLeish took a bag into the season.

    I think it should be
    - English Premier League club Aston Villa manager's position is still vacant after Scot Alex McLeish was sacked at the end of the season.

    Never trust translate.google

Jesus ****ing christ!!!!! Has Rogers lost his ****ing mind!?!?!?!! Its clear he has no integrity at all and only cares about money. The question is, who will Swansea take on as their manager.

I'll tell you the thing that surprises me most. It's not his decision to move to Liverpool having previously indicated that he wouldn't, as I've said previously I see this as a somewhat different situation. It's the fact that when he signed his new Swansea contract, he decided to use the word "integrity" again. I'm sure by now we have learnt to take what he says about his future with a barrel of salt, but you would think he'd go out of his way to avoid that particular word.

It's obviously a secret word for "come and get me. I want to join you".

    Unbelievable!

Meanwhile, Paul Lambert has apparently had a row with the owner of Norwich and has walked out, presumably straight into a job at Villa. I wonder if that will affect compensation payments.

Maybe the row was caused because he chose to use one of Nigella's recipes instead of one of Delia's!
