For me after the forward, left back, wingers are looked at central midfield will be at the top of MoN's mind, we have a group of central midfielders that are totally the same, they offer nothing going forward, there is no pace, no creativity, no goals (they must have about 7between them in all the games they have played for the club) and they are all average (bar Colback). For me we should of been after Sigurdsson and according to yesterdays reports we might of been but it seems like he is off to Swansea. He would of been fantastic for us, the lad has a creative spark and certainly know's were the goal is, at 23years of age 6.4m or however much he is going for would of been well spent on him. Another player is Manuel Fernandes now out of contract, he would offer us something we have never had in central midfield, someone with the tricks and flicks, someone who can play that killer pass inbehind and unlock defences and someone who can grab a couple of goals now and again. It might be good business getting Cattermole tied down to a new contract as then we have more power to get a better fee for the lad and I cannot see the lad being at SAFC this time next year. The only 1 out of the 5 that has anything about them and we should do everything we can can to keep is Colback. As for the other 4 we should be looking to replace them if its not this summer with all of them then January and next summer at the latest.
I like Catts, I think he is really good when he is on form - remember Man City at home. He also adds that bite which we miss, even something Colback cannot bring to the team. I think we will play for 3 CM next season. So IMO that leaves 1 spot left over. I can see the CM being: ...............Catts............... .......???.............Colback... For people saying he needs to score more goals, as a DM his aim is to stop goals going in. Barry and Carrick don't score many, neither does Parker. It is clear MON is looking at 4-3-3. With a new CM hopefully coming in, I think its time up for Garnder and Vaughan, both I wouldn't miss either.
