Balls - I can't register on the site. There's this malarky against internet gambling over here. ACF ... have a tenner for me would you. I'll be over in July for the centenary to pay off the loss or collect my winnings.
You are spot on when you say the odds aren't always right. No-one is saying Brendan will get the job just because he's the current favorite - maybe someone else will be favorite tomorrow. But the odds often point to things happening that later come to light. So it's just speculation.
I'm in Thailand and betting is banned here. If I go to betfair site I get a warning from some Thai Ministry saying it's a banned site.
Sorry "A Casual Fan" You are appearing to be enjoying fueling a fire where many fans are concerned of the situation.... Just like someone who eggs someone on to have a fight and then claims that the person was wrong in doing so, as if to be the innocent one... I am all for discussing, what if and who would you like to replace if it happens etc, but that's not how you are putting it...
The meeting must have gone well, the odds are starting to shift back in favour of Martinez now. Betfred have got Rogers evens, Martinez is back down to 5/4. I'll take back everything I've said about Martinez if he just takes the bloody job!
Looks like Martinez will get it after all. The ploy to bring Brendan into it got Martinez to agree. Bedtime for me. It was fun. Goodnight.
too early to be discussing new managers but the will he/wont he debate is what interests me - all Brendan has to do to squash the rumours is confirm his commitment to the club, the fact that he hasnt signifies he is hedging his bets - very worrying - lets hope Huw has pulled out all the stops
I think Brendan realises the mistake Martinez made by saying he would never leave. So I don't think we'll have get that sort of thing from Brendan because he's already said he wants to manage a big club and you never know when that offer would come. So he is bound to be a little more wary of committing himself to the club long-term. But he could say he's not interested in the Liverpool job. I suspect he's waiting to see what happens.
It's been really interesting for me, reading some of your posts on the betting odds and bookies, and as someone who has never placed a bet at the bookies, it's been some insightful reading from Casual fan, Valley, Bepp, and SA9, cheers lads, I might well place a bet on Louis van Gaal or Jurgen Klopp! Any tips most appreciated..........
jinks cant do nothing its brendans choice. its exactly like martinez did right down to keeping quiet and coming back early to see the chairman before announcing anything....dont worry about it..
Who cares what happens ...he takes one of the top jobs or he dont.......so what!! he is only a manager doing a job of work and when something better comes along then they are off...thats the way it is and thats the way it will always be..I dont care either way as all that can happen is we get a new manager....so what is everybody's problem with that...great if he stays but if he goes i wont lose any sleep over it.....
I think the problem with that is if we had a different manager we might not do as well... ...and before you say it won't make any difference, look what happened to Aston Villa.
I agree to an extent Dai, but it would be nice if he stays for at least another season to keep us settled going into what could be a tougher season than the last one. I know we'll get by as we've done before, I just think it would be better going into our second season with solidarity
"If it is true that Liverpool want to speak with Brendan Rodgers it proves they don't know who they want as manager," Whelan told ESPN. "I hope they choose Brendan Rodgers." I think all of the media circus came from Whelan just to stir the pot up and try to interfere with his boy getting the job. If Martinez goes, he'll probably want to take all of his back-room staff with him, which is probably what all the talk is about in Miami today. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Whelan gets left with nothing, just like us three years ago. What goes around comes around. **** him.
