Not winding you up whatsoever, I genuinely believe that Zola and Bergkamp are the 2 most overrated players to play in the premier league. Im not saying either were bad players, all I'm saying is they were never as good as they were made out to be.

Both players were capable of scoring great goals but neither did the business week in week out. When I think of great premier league forwards I think of Shearer, Henry, Van Nistlerooy and even Drogba sneaks onto that list. Do I think of players like Zola and Bergkamp who averaged a goal every 1 in 4?

Both could score great goals, but over a 38 game season both were pretty average

Zola and Bergkamp hardly ever played as strikers, they were 'second strikers' playing in the hole or even out wide in Zola's case.

Now stop talking **** you utter troll.

They were still forwards at the end of the day. Ronaldo scored 31 goals for us in the league 1 year playing as a right winger. Rooney has been playing in the hole this season for us and he still managed 25 league goals. Great forwards score goals werether they play in attack:biggrin:

Henry was far more pleasing to the eye than what Drogba is. Both are in the Premier League greats but it's Henry all day long for me.

Cantona most overrated. Bottled it in Europe (as did many of those United players) season after season.

And eclipsed by Zidane. SAF could have bought ZZ in 96 and won European trophies but instead stuck with ****ona

Yet he is regarded as one of the best players to have played in the Premier League. Must have done something right in the time he was at Leeds and United.

Agree gaz, was only responding to Devon Shergar's stupid post.

cantona obviously not overrrated; and had biggest impact on Prem out of any player thus far and one of the top five.

    Zola in top 20

By the way, how many penalties did Rooney score?

So your criticism of Cantona, was not your opinion, you just posted it to try and get a reaction out of me. Aren't those the actions of a wum?*

I personally think Cantona was a top class player, but i wouldn't rank him as the best we've had under SAF, largely because as you say he didnt realy make an impact in Europe. Ronaldo would be the best player I've seen play for us under SAF:biggrin:*

Ronnie was not that good in Europe either... 18 game without a goal was it?

There again, United and SAF has always struggled in Europe.... apart from playing Chelsea and Arsenal!
