Morning Everyone, Our bid to bring in Paddy Kenny has been cast into doubt â with Queens Park Rangers unlikely to sell before they bring in a top-class replacement. They are looking to bring in Shay Given, before letting Kenny go. At least we would have a decent number 2 keeper, whoever started. In January, Bates remarked that selling Johnny Howson to Norwich in January was an "idiot/no brainer" situation and implied that getting £2m for him was an "astonishing" bit of business as far as Leeds are concerned. Here we are in May, and Norwich are now looking to try and snap up Snodgrass for around 1.5m as a result !!!! Eddie Gray is not helping things, and got quoted in the paper saying Snodds deserves to play Premier League football, but 'hopes he may stay'. That does not fill me with confidence..... Thoughts? Statement from LUST a couple of days ago In February we responded to Ken Batesâ suggestion that we âput our money where our mouth is,â by asking any potential investors, who shared the aims and ambitions of our members and of our Vision Statement, to contact the Trust with a view to working together to take Mr Bates up on his offer. We developed a presentation so interested parties could see how working with L.U.S.T. could help them, and have been in contact with a number of people to explore ways of bringing about change for the better at Elland Road. As part of this ongoing work, we have spoken to two groups who are interested in buying Leeds United. At this stage it is not possible for us to go into details about our conversations with these groups, as with a firm offer on the table we would not want to jeopardise any current negotiations. Todays dilema. Bates or Ridsdale? If you had to have one of em, which one would you have?
Morning The lust statement shows that whoever comes in will likely work with lust as a board member, so no bates versus ridsdale scenario for me
Morning!! Understand QPRs thinking, but it may also be to get more clubs interested. Gray is simply toeing the party line a la his buddy Lorimer. I am so excited about the possibility of Bates selling. I simply have never understood how a massive investor has not yet bought Leeds. If ever there was a club with potential worth investing in its the Mighty Whites. Come on you Russian gangster, stop fannying about with your Uzi, get on over to Leeds. You can even get White Russian Vodka to sponsor our shirts!!
Praying this takeover thing goes ahead. Important outcome is that enough funds are made available so we can once again compete for the signatures of players while holding on to the good ones we have. Who knows, with money to spend, Warnock might even give it a few seasons before retiring. After all, old blue nose did a turn on retirement a few years back
Morning monkeys Word in the city is that some bloke called Larry Tanenbaum has instructed a due dilligence on Leeds United - not sure who he is or who he represents but this is definately happening Also never heard of the Solicitors doing the due dilligence - a firm called OPARA LAW PC. No bullshit this time
I remember you from somewhere else, and as you support Millwall I know I can trust you not to wind us up. He's Maple Leaf, and Opara are a Toronto law firm. Who knows whether it will be good, depends if he intends loading us up with huge debts to buy us.
This is not bs BS I hadn't heard of him before, but apparently he tried to but Forest recently but thought they were over-priced
Morning all. Due diligence is the technical bit of a takeover where the prospective buyer goes through the books to check that claimed income, profits, losses, etc have provenance. It's a legal thing. In answer to your dilema Elland, this one really is a dilema. Ridsdale took us into the mess that Bates has just more or less gut us out of. We are now financially secure apparently, but he's not really investing in the squad, something that Ridsdale did too much of. Very close call, but in these austere times, I'd go for Bates by no more than a hare's breath. Less than a short nose in racing terms.
No chance Bates & Risdale should be allowed anywhere near a company. Dont forget Bates took us into Admin & got us a 25 point deduction, lost us ER & TA sold all our best assests (to date) and hasnt replaced them. He didnt save us, he simply forced everyones hand so he was the only person that could buy Leeds united. The guys a crook. As for the Riddler, look whats happened everywhere he has gone!
Bucks, we were in serious danger of going out of business. Taking us into administration is the business way of getting protection from your creditors. He had to raise money, so selling TA & ER with the option to buy back when we could afford to do so makes business sense. Selling players is a point on which there are a whole raft of views. One day, we may get to know the real truth, rather than just rely on gossip, speculation, & rumour. Aso to who I'd prefer, neither would be the default answer. But if I had to choose one, I'd settle for Bates.... just!!!
