    Hi All,

Apologies if this has already been discussed....

But, who else feels that the 2 stands are really starting to play off one another and it's really starting to make the atmosphere in the ground one that we should all be proud of and maybe one that will really start to, not only to really get behind the team, but to also intimidate/quieten the opposing fans?

The atmosphere vs MK was electric and then the banter last night was absolutely brilliant :emoticon-0100-smile

From what I can gather (I'm down the other end in Chapel) from various people down that end it has always been there, if a little un co-ordinated. Lately as you say it has been great especially as they have been playing the songs slower and a bit longer. We in the Chapel cannot always hear what is being sung so have to wait. The more traditional songs yes but some of the other stuff is more difficult. Perhaps they should put a mike and speakers down each others end, then both can hear what the other is singing and join in when appropriate.

Uncoordinated is definitely the word to use until recently. It's interesting what you say about not being able to hear in the Chapel, easy for us to assume that the whole ground can hear all of us! Although until you said that I didn't think the Chapel sung, but maybe it's just that we can't hear you! :)

Lets be honest the chapel is a lot quieter than the Kingsland or Northam. But our corner Itchen and Chapel can and is very boisterous at times and tries to join in when we can actually hear what your lot are singing. The exception of course are the traditional songs, these usually we can make them out, because of the familiar noise, and we do join in. Just remember we are the family enclosure, so some we just can't get involved in, also there doesn't seem so many down our end so we don't always have the umph to make a big noise, although most of the youngster do their best trust me. It does at times come out as a squeak, but they sing believe me......<laugh>

The banter from either stand was quite funny last night. Great spirit between each other. Did make me laugh.

Aswell tho... Both Kingsland and Northam still need to work on OWTS bein sung correctly as last night showed we still have the odd few people not releasing it 2x slow then into the clapping.

All good tho - Keep up the singin. Atmosphere been gettin better game after game!

Last 3 home games has produced fantastic atmospheres now people are starting believe we've got a good chance of going up and that fear of expecting something bad when watching Saints is disappearing. At a couple of points last night I looked round the ground and every single person in every single stand was at least clapping along to the songs or joining in with them. Another phenomenal support going up to London on Saturday as well , wish I was there! Get behind them towards another 3 points :)

As we have such a splendid big stadium, there is bit of a time lag which makes if difficult from the Chapel, or Chapel end sides. I wish that I could hear some more of the banter. I did enjoy the Bradley Wright-Phillips...he's always offside, etc. How do these come back so quickly? Never felt brave enough to take my son to the Northam, and like watching football sitting down.

It would be good if we could get everyone to sing OWTS twice slowly as others have pointed out. Hey, maybe we could get the big screens to show the words with the little red ball like Karaoke <laugh>.
Definitely the atmosphere has been good the last few games, is it just that we are winning?

Northam asking us who we were atleast shows that we are starting to make an impact as a stand/corner :)

Agree that OWTS still needs a bit of work but definitely improving over the last few games and long may it continue for the rest of this season. The team certainly seem to be responding too which is the main aim of the game!

Next season i take my 5yo daughter to her first game. Will be behind the goal in the Chapel as normal and do wish we could hear better the chanting/singing from t'other end. Been in the Northam with my 12 year old girl and Kingsland with her and my 7yo son. Both enjoyed the atmosphere hugely. Listening on Solent as I do mostly at the moment i have found the noise level improving a lot this season. The away support has always been good and now we seem to be finding our voices at home.

Great for the team and also further enhances the enjoyment of the youngsters we take and hope will learn to love our club as we do.

Could you enlighten me on the David Connolly song mate? My brother told me he heard a funny 'Bradley sh*te sh*te sh*te', good to hear he got a pleasant reception when he came off.

Basically when Connolly came on someone behind me started signing(to the tune of Adam Lallana makes Messi look ****e) : " David Connolly , we thought he was dead!" ...then that lead to " David Connolly , he's f*cking alive!" ......then....."David Connolly , he's back from the dead!" <laugh>

Lightened up a boring period of the match.

I grew up on a lot of away games in my early years supporting Saints and living in the Midlands, the atmosphere and singing is why I fell in love with the club and took the ridicule of my Liverpool and Man U supporting friends (whom I still make aware that i've watched my team play at their ground more than they've visited!!)
My daughter's 4 so I think it will be a while before she joins me in the 'getting very' noisy Kingsland North. Not least because I don't want to have to explain to her some of the songs!!
My boss took his daughter to watch Tranmere at Brighton recently and had to explain some of songs that got sung, ha ha ha, slightly uncomfortable conversation!!
