What does the different motives have to do with anything you moron? So the fans that might have got robbed or beaten in SA will just say 'oh well, those people are poor I can understand it'? Will they ****. They do not care. The motives behind the crime might be different but the effects on the victims will be same. But in SA, we never heard about these crimes because in an event like that the police are everywhere and this will be the case for the Euro's. In SA, the possible attackers of tourist might have done it for money and the guys in Poland and Ukraine are going to try and hurt people for different reasons. But at the end of they are both dangers to the people going there.

Sol Cambell may have gone OTT with the coffin comment but what is undeniable is that the problem of racism in the stadiums in those countries is far far worse than any other. Cambell's shock is a measure of how far England has progressed in comparison to the filfth we saw on Panorama...his disgust should be applauded.

I made 3 points, the first about the displacement of people in South Africa to hide the poverty from the world, the link spoke of beatings for those not back in the temporary camps at night. The second point was about I suggested looking up the shoot to kill policy being re-introduced for the World Cup. You want a deterrent, there you go. The second point also highlighted the reasons why people do things and what is effective policing. Organised thuggery versus people stealing to feed their family. One set of people have a deterrent in place (Police brutality) the others do not, add to that the fact that some have had military training and others are not scared of the police as was witnessed in the film. This point is a very strong reason why throwing police at the problem isn't any kind of guarantee of safety - the thugs will find a way to cause havoc on minorities.

The final point was the South African police admitted they had a problem so dealt with it, but the Ukrainian police chief didn't even acknowledge they had a problem, so how can they address it.
