Hazard says he's off to Chelsea, now obviously this affects Arsenal as it means a rival is getting stronger, but that's always a given. But the reason why this will have a bigger affect on Arsenal will be with RVP. RVP will be looking at a rival club like Chelsea, who just won the Champions League, and now just made a big signing of a very hot young prospect. This will defintely make him look at Arsenal and see what we do, at the end of the day, it's all about ambition for him, if he sees other big clubs showing big ambition, but not much happening at our front, then he's out without a doubt. We've got Podolski so far, but still a long way from being title contenders, we have to show big ambition.
Can't see RVP at Chelsea. They seem to be ready to build their forward line around Torres and there has been zero talk of RVP going to Chelsea.
I think he's saying that he is seeing other clubs get stronger, while there is lack of ambition at Arsenal, so this will persuade him to leave.
Hazards all good but if they go on to buy Hulk and another drogba replacement I wouldn't be a happy supporter no matter how many trophies I win it'll be just boring. Ambition is one thing that's what i believe Manu do but what man city and Chelsea do is insanity. We do need to spend but I'll be disappointed if we spend even half of what Chelsea spend.
Looks like Chelsea will replace Spurs in the top 4 then. As long as we're better than Liverpool, Newcastle and Spurs we get 4th. Wenger will be happy with that, no doubt.
Even if it's Manunited, RVP will look and say they're showing big ambition by this major signing, a season after they failed to collect silverware, that's how you do it, you fail in 1 season, then you make the big chances.
There's a potential unproven youngster out in the wilderness somewhere, along with an experienced yet past it Frenchman and an average winger-wannabe that are your most likely transfers this summer. I think Malouda and Kalou would fit the bill for the last two.
i know this is a wind up mate but i just thought id point out its a shame to see comments like this actually irking some gooners. I personally find it arrogant and not worth bothering about as i find most chelsea fans i know like that....but thats just me
As much of an annoying git he has been...it is still disappointing to see Arsenal being muscled out yet again. How I wish Usmonov was unleashed to bring some pride back to Arsenal. Oh wait we cant have Usmonov because we need to stay with silent Stan as he is preferred by Hill-Wood. I wish Arsenal stopped acting like cowards.
I would never wish death upon someone, but surely Hill-Wood could suffer some sort of illness that makes him resign his position?
Speed of signings was always important for us this year. Delaying till after the Euro's and tour is not good for two reasons. Firstly we have to rush things, secondly players like RVP as the OP rightly says will now be looking on watching other teams make big signings. If we had our business done already, it woul dnot have an effect.
I think this is an example of a case where player and agent power just reel in the big hitters, because they know they can. Not Arsenal's fault really. Although I do agree that Peter Hill Wood hasn't been a good custodian of the club in recent years, I think his decisions have been about protecting his own interests rather than the club's.
Hulk is obviously very talented, but may find the rigours of the PL hard for a while. He doesn't exactly have it hard playing for Porto or indeed Brazil, he's nearly always playing for the best side. Saying that he does OK in the CL, but Porto's entire team revolves around him. He's wasteful in possession and tries things when they're not on.
