I hope our new manager gives Joe Cole a chance next season.

He has 2 years left on his contract, and on his day he is one of the best midfielders in the league in my opinion.

I'd definately keep him and give him the chance to prove himself, especially now Maxi is going, he provides an attacking option.

Has Maxi leaving been confirmed? Perhaps the new manager will play him more?

Cole is a good player and has had a good season in France it seems. But he'll only suit Liverpool if they move to a slower passing game so i think it depends who you sign in the summer. As things stand i don't think he'll be welcomed back into the fold but it is a shame as he's a good player and you'd think he could do a job for you (got to be better than Downing...)

He earns to much to keep him, on a contract of 90K he needs to be a very good player for a club not in the CL. So unless he signs a new contract worth less money (which is very unlikely) he will need to be shipped off

There was a thread about him on our board last week saying Hughes was trying to bring him to us?

Please no! Even if we have to write-off his contract we MUST get rid of him

Joe Cole has been something of an enigma throughout his career; no doubt talented but a succession of managers have benched him. Didn't 'the special one' once publicly chastise him for not being a team player? Perhaps therein lies the problem. I thought he'd be Kenny's type of player but he was quickly shipped off.....although not sure how much economics played its part.

Having said that, on his day, he is class <ok>

Chelsea will have signed (reportedly) Hulk and Hazard...

We will have signed (reportedly) Defoe and Cole (back)....

This says it all really. The owners need to stop ****ing about with this manager nonsense, pick someone soon (they're all the same substandard quality anyway), and get on with the transfer window.

Already said above; looks good in a sub pace league. A list of premiership managers benched him. So for all the ability it must be attitude.

Now Bellamy is an example of how a player can belatedly grow up but.....

He always seemed to play well against us as a Chelsea player and i was
pleased when we signed him,but it just never happened for him.
Always looked a bit weighty , started with that red card v Arsenal and
    never really impressed after that.

90K a week, nah,we've got to move forward.A resounding NO from me.

He'd have to have some serious impact next season to deserve the wages he's on...at 90k a week, I'd be expecting 10goals/10assists minimum as well as a constant threat and influence in the big games.

Unfortunately, he's not shown that level of play since he was a teenager. Massive talent when younger, just really never hit his peak. Now, he's too old and slow to ever make the top level. I think he'll be moved on this summer.

    no legs... simple decision here.

For me even in a 4-2-3-1 if i had a choice i'd go for maxi every time and i don't think HE has the legs to play in the prem.

We need young talent cos lord save us gerrard will be around not running for years more and we desperately need 4-5 player around him to do all his running. Lucas, squarez are a start but adam and downing? we desperately need better. Joe is not that

Mollie has had 42 visitors to her profile page, she's quite popular for someone with 6 posts to her name. <whistle>

Oh yeah, Joe Cole not good enough IMO.
