Goodness me, what a lot of tripe we have on here today.

Come on - HJ could not be more definitive if he tried. Who believes what the newspapers say? I bet 'Arry stopped believing the "news"papers a long time ago.

Today is a great day for our club - HR dismissing the claptrap in the papers, agreeing a record deal for Gylfi, and the prospect of Caulker returning on loan next season. WIth all this good news, I really am dumfounded that some people come on here and have a gripe.

As for Dai, "loyalty" is a two-way thing. Think on, before you make your next post.

I don't think most people are having a gripe; they're just speculating. It's fun.

Phil, I think that RDM's recent success will make him a wanted man with bigger clubs than ours. Along with Poyet, I suggested his name pre Buck. Probably out of our price range now but not to worry because my guess is that Buck will be staying. Fingers crossed, eh!!

I'll have everything crossed Ivor, I'm sure that Jenkins will be talking to Rodgers on this one, and we'll soon have the response from Brendan hopefully to crush this nonsense, I disappointed in the Independent though!...............<cheers>

If there is nothing in this story why do you think Brendan is now favorite with most bookies. I know they often get it wrong. But if there wasn't any money coming in for Brendan then the odds would be lengthening, but they're shortening. And Martinez's odds are drifting out. I hope I'm wrong but sounds like someone knows something and they are putting money on it. But even they can be wrong. His odds are shortening even after Huw's denial and that usually means that something is going on.

But if he doesn't go to Liverpool we'll probably have the speculation again with the next club that comes along.

The odds on him going maybe are shortening, if people put money on it the bookies are going to make a killing when he doesn't go ;) don't know how many times the club must deny this story, but it's exactly that a story with no verifiable facts.

like i keep saying it all speculation but you have to realise that brendan is hot property at the moment and the top clubs are the only ones that have any chance of prising him away from us. i went to the bookies this afternoon and Rodgers is now JOINT favorite with martinez after having his odds slashed.
now over the next couple of weeks you can be sure that other top clubs will be putting an offer to brendan, Lazio being one of them, I dont think we as fans should worry about it because if he is offered one of the top jobs then he would be a fool not to take it as he may not get another chance ever again.

campton wrote...As for Dai, "loyalty" is a two-way thing. Think on, before you make your next post.

now those of us who have supported the club for decades know there is no such thing as loyalty in football at any level, Managers come managers go and whoever they go to will be the ones that they are loyal to at the time,

Brendan has deserved any offers he may get and we as fans should be grateful for what he has done and should he make the decision to step up even higher then we should not be sad or angry....we should be happy for him as it is his ambition to manage a big club..We will still be a premiership club with plenty of money in the bank and we will move on with another manager who in a years time we will be saying what a great manager he is.....

Dai, I have followed the swans for decades mate - more than 35 years. Not as long as you I know, but I'm not as old as you either.

When I talked about loyalty, I was talking about you, not the manager. You slag everyone off with impunity and then revert to playground name-calling when anyone argues back. Isn't that what bullies do?

I'll wish him all the best if he goes, hoping he doesn't but as Dai says, managers come and managers go. The club will move on and I'm sure we'll get the right man in yet again.
With regards to the bookies, is it possible that they may be part of these rumours to get the attention from where all the money is really going? All the money going on Rogers as a result of the rumours, is money that they won't have to pay out when Klopp takes it or someone. I can't see it being Martinez either as I can't see that his press conference tomorrow is to say he's leaving. More likely to swear his allegiance to Wigan forever and will have to be carried out in a box etc etc...

At the end of the day we will still be a football club in the premiership with Brendan or without Brendon and plenty of money now to make sure we progress....
christ we are not like our neighbors who are struggling and losing over a million quid a month and over £70 million in debt....we are the team in wales who have done welsh football proud....Don't worry one iota what happens because its not our decision its Brendans...

I can't see Martinez making his press conference a farewell either! but why slash the odds on Rodgers if it's another runner in the race they will lose on at less favourable odds to themselves?............... <ok>

Are these the same bookmakers that had us as Favourites for relegation last season? Or the season before that, or the one before that, or...

    Who cares what they think?

Personally I think Elvis should get the Liverpool job, he would remember the days when Liverpool were great.
