Good grief, Dai, are you flogging a point or what?

I'm sure we all realise that Rodgers will move on to bigger and better things eventually and it might be sooner rather than later, but you don't know, we don't know and probably he doesn't know himself so there's no point in repeating it every 30 minutes.

sorry but like i have said all along rogers has not refused to talk to liverpool as liverpool have made no approach. so like i said nobody knows if brendan will be officially approached or not. If he is offered the chance at liverpool then of course he has to take it. he may not get another opportunity to manage a massive club. besides liverpool there is a Que waiting to pounce and they are all big clubs...jinks can try and deny that there is no interest in brendan all he wants but just like martinez he is trying to ignore the speculations. everyone knows that offers will flood in soon when everyone is back to work and its then and only then will we know what brendan's intentions are IF and again IF he is approached by any of the clubs associated with brendan, dont fret as it happens when a manager has been successful and thats the way it goes im afraid, Its Brendan's career its Brendan's destiny and whatever happens...happens but at this time its all speculation.....

Dai, no disrespect, mate, but is there any chance that you could break up your posts with a paragraph or two? I sometimes, okay, often disagree with what you have to say but I always enjoy your input and appreciate your passion for our club.

But it is so arduous reading bloody great blocks of prose and I often give up and move on to the next post. I reckon that your posts would have more impact if they were more readily readable. As I said, mate, don't go off on one, just a friendly request to help my tired eyes.

Superswan as you can see on the official website, the club have debunked any further rumours about Liverpool, you can tell its crap mate by there not being any quotes from anyone and there are glaring mistakes in the reports, like Henry paying for Brendan to fly to the states !

As for queues of clubs waiting for the holidays to finish, well where are they ? Who are they ? And where do you get your questionable information from ? You just seem to revel in misinformation and the gutter press, they rely on people like you to spread unfounded rumours so people buy their papers!

I just wait to hear from the bbc as they are normally on the money with these kind of things or the club as it saves headaches and lessons crap being spread about.

Valley well said mate, though I do rate the Independent, and they are running with the story as well, will be interesting to see Rodgers reaction soon, though why has Jenkins got to come out and put these fires out? I hope Rodgers makes an unequivocal statement shortly, putting all this damaging speculation to rest!.................... <ok>

In reality why would BR want to go anywhere else at this point in time.

The big difference between us and other clubs that everybody seems to ignore, which I think is a big factor in BR's thinking or anybody's for that matter, is that although we are a work in progress, we are far further along in that project than just about any other club in Britain. We are financially sound, have a football style that is on the cutting edge of the game, have a set of players technically good enough to play it, committed to a one for all, all for one approach; have a Board that is vested in the philosophy and committed to the project. Granted our budget is limited relative to our peers above us in the table, but our business wheels are only just beginning to turn at this level and season after season that will expand and the funds applied in a prudent way.

Liverpool is a resurrection project. They have a bunch of players that don't necessarily work well together. They have new owners who come from a completely different sport culture (a monopolistic franchise system, not a merit driven pyramid system), a different sport and may not have the pockets nor the patience, nor the business think required to fund and execute the sort of rebuild that might be required.

Chelsea is another resurrection project, where success driven ownership is even more acute, and where the senior players that rule the locker room and seem to dominate the club are all on the rapidly descending downward slope of their careers. AVB has shown that new ways, new ideas are not welcome unless you sweep house first - who's going to be the first to have the balls to do that. True Chelsea did beautifully this season in Europe but their demise in the league demonstrates that week in week out the old guard doesn't pack the punch it once did; this is only going to be worse next season.

Big ships don't turn on a dime (penny, pick the coin of your choice), regardless of the funds available, they take time, they take effort, they take patience -- critical resources in short supply at Big Clubs. Manchester City is a rare exception to this rule and in large part due to the extreme quality and numbers of players they acquired and the quality of the manager acquired to manage them. Arsenal is a good example of a Big Club that has been trying for several seasons now to "rebuild" to challenge for the title - they're still working at it - it's not easy.

Clubs like us are in short supply. From a football manager's point of view, I think we're a good gig to get for a progressive coach that wants to apply his creativity, and the value of our proposition is growing all the time. There are no unrealistic expectations, not from the Board, nor from the fans. Yet I think we're a lot closer to realistically challenging for trophies than most people realize. On average, our starting XI is a very young team. We're a young, we're good, and we're only going to get better.

In reality why would BR want to go anywhere else at this point in time.

yes absolutly...would not you if you had already made it plain that he wont go anywhere UNLESS one of the big clubs come in for him...He may not get offered again if we dont do as well next season.
Its no good deniying that there are no clubs who are interested in rodgers because there are too many big papers reporting the fact. Telegraph, Independant, Times being just three who dont post bullshit like some of the popular tabloids.....So what do we know? Well all we know is that some big clubs are interested in rodgers and thats all.
the next question is ...Will any of these clubs make an offer to rodgers....answer..dont know but if they do then what??
should rodgers agree to listen to their offers....answer..Absolutely yes .
will rodgers after talks take over a bigger club.....answer..dont know..
If he should go what about us..answer..we carry on as a premiership club with another manager who probably at the end of the season we will go through all this speculation again....

There may be multiple papers reporting this, but the source seems to be the same for each one, read the reports they are all basically the same! The newspapers get most of their stories from companies like Reuters and the Press Association, these agencies sell to one and all. And of course there are things like twitter and Facebook that spread news and crap virally.

Good post, Yankee. Let's hope that Buck's thought processes are in a similar vein.
