Are players and staff from the club banned from using forums like this? I couldn't see a single thing wrong with that. At all. Ever.
I do't think that was their 'policy'. But I think the fact fans/people around them(everyone but NB and AP) were mentioning Billy Sharp had an impact. What didn't help was the way they revealed that information in the HDM which made them sound like they were taking scouting advice from their canteen. In fact I'm pretty sure Sharp's agent was the one who brought it to the Allams attention because Sharp wanted to come here.
But I don't believe they said that. They said they suggested one player. They didn't say any of the things you imply here.
You're argument sounds like we signed Sharp behind Barmby's back. The Allams offered Nick the chance (be it on ridiculous wages/large transfer fee or whatever) and Nick said no thank you. So the final decision lied with Nick. It might have been the wrong decision from Nick in hindsight but I he stuck to what he believed and the Allams supported that (at least in terms of Billy Sharp). The time to worry is if we'd bought him anyway, even after Nick said no. We can't comment on the particular deals which didn't happen because no one has quizzed the Allams on them. (Hammil ect.)
My point was more that they would only agree deals for certain players and whilst he wasn't allowed the ones he actually wanted, they conveniently came out with Sharp's name montsh after the event and said they would have paid for him. I don't believe them in the first place, and secondly I think it's no coincidence they chose a name the fans wanted, almost as if they wanted the fans on their side and against Nick...
I'm not sure, I don't remember seeing it if he did. My not believing them was purely based on what it would cost, and what we have been spending on players in the last year or so. I'd also suggest they never offered to do the deal at the time and it was never really considered, but they claimed afterwards that they would have done the deal if asked knowing that it couldn't be proven wrong because they never were asked. That's all just my opinion on what might have happened of course.
I don't actually know how the conversations went between Nick, AP and the Allam's, I just know Nick was never interested in signing Sharp.
I have asked once before and am asking again, who are these "Teams of people" that are helping them find a manager. I just think they want to do it all on their own. You can guarantee they will do all the negotiating. How do we know that they have not spoken to a couple of people already and been turned down.
There's no evidence either way, just the Allams' word which a year ago I would have believed without question, but now I find everything they say dubious. If I had evidence I wouldn't be offering it as an opinion, I'd be trying to convince you to think the same way. I don't know anything. I just think based on what little we know and how things seem to have been going recently that we never intended to spent big money and that the Allams have no hesitation to bend the truth when addressing the fans.
Another day with no news from the club, will it be tomorrow I wonder. Are the team going abroad to do a bit of pre-season training this year, has anything been announced about that?
Wrong with what? (I don't see any deleted posts, but you sound like one has disappeared) My experience is that unless it's in an official capacity (eg the website editor using the messageboard on the OWS)they're allowed to use the forums, but if they do they're not allowed to say who they are/what they do in case their comments are taken by fans as being representative of the club's position.
