Or 4 straight wins before xmas? Nick's tenure had high points and low points, like any other manager. Note that that 1 win in 11 incuded draws at Birmingham, Blackpool and Palace away.

Anyway his record whilst in charge is this (League only)-

    P 31 W 12 D 8 L 11

Over the season this is how it would look (assuming that the above pattern stayed more or less the same)

    P 46 W 17 D 13 L 16

That would give us 64 points, lower than our overal total but not much different.

    22. Barnsley

I think we will do well but that all depends on what manager we get and keeping our players. They will have a very good squad to work with. UTT and dont stress too much enjoy the summer!

Completely average mid-table then. What was our record under Pearson this season?

We have a whole generation of fans now who have grown up with promotions and the Premiership but you would have thought the older heads would be a bit wiser maybe. Where we ended up last year was a good effort given that we had an attack that couldn't hit a barn door with a machine gun until it was too late, and maybe we were a bit too reliant on Roko's goals.

Football fans should never accept underachieving in any circumstances, they should never settle for anything less, and there is no such thing as overachieving in football

Going by this season's table it would put us in 10th position (assuming goal difference is better than -8), not bad for a rookie manager in his first full season had NB been in charge from last summer.

Here's NP's stats until the West Ham game in Early November

    P15 W 7 D 3 L 5

Over the season had that pattern of results continued, I make it out to be this

    P 46 W 18 D 13 L 15

That would give us 67 points, one below our final total. Not much difference between the two of them overall and it would still give us the same finishing position of 8th. This of course assumes that the pattern of results remains consistent over the season but it shows there wasn't much between NP or NB last season.

I thought Birmingham are facing financial problems and possible administration next season? They are going to have to do mighty well to finish in some of your predictions of top 6 if that's the case.

It's hard to predict the relegated sides because of how many of their players they might sell. Blackburn owners came out t say they will give money to get them straight back up, although saying and doing are completely different things.

Cardiff always seem to finish top 6. Leicester are already building but usually shoot themselves in the foot. Bates is threatening to hold Leeds back. Bolton may have to sell. Burnley are a bit of a financial mess. Blackpool are Blackpool, unpredictable.

One thing to point out is we travel much less next season. Southampton, West Ham and Reading all went up and replaced by closer sides in Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton. Going down sent Portsmouth, Coventry and Doncaster (the nearest of the leaving 6) and replaced by Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield and furthest away Charlton. ur furthest games are Brighton, Watford, Charlton and Millwall next season, 4 big visits down south opposed to the 7 last season. Surely that's a good thing, right?

Firstly, I'd like to register my appreciation of this top-notch piece of punnery.

Secondly, my prediction is presently as follows:

AUTOMATIC: Bolton, Middlesbrough (dark horse: you heard it here first).
PLAYOFFS: Brighton, Huddersfield (P), Wolves, Blackpool
RELEGATION: Burnley, Charlton, Peterborough (hard to say before signings are made, as with anything).
    WHITE SHYTE: 13th.
    ALMIGHTY HULL: 11th.
WENZDI: 9th, and top team in proper Yorkshire. <yikes>
    LEICESTER: 12th (or a similarly-boring, Pearson-driven midtable finish)
