The crash was triggered by Alonso moving into Grosjean who then bounced into Schuey.

Or if you're an Alonso fan, the crash was triggered by a slow starting Hamilton making Alonso move, to avoid hitting Hamilton, into Grosjean who then bounced into Schuey.

Well, Schumacher's followers seem to have a predilection for statistics. The only thing statistics actually prove is that statistics are statistics. And statistically, karma still has an awful lot of catching up to do…

ASChris: This is a great post. It is one of the best evaluations of a racing incident I have read on a forum.

And that's precisely what it was: a racing incident. Schumacher was unfortunate to be so far committed that he had nowhere to go. However, one might also argue that he was incredibly fortunate to be able to continue. My understanding at present is that his retirement was a result of fuel starvation, most likely unrelated to the Grosjean incident.

    Grosjean turned into Alonso.

Alonso moved into the space next to Hamilton, and then Grosjean hit Alonso's rear wheel.

You may have a point here, Forza; but I think the point ASChris was trying to make is that it was a 'knock-on' effect which resulted in the incident we are discussing.

Schuey had nowhere to go - it looked to me as if he moved left hoping there would be room - but no space left.
Result - impact. Tough luck- but he was able to continue.

If Schumacher goes out and wins at Canada I will be convinced. Sadly already in his comeback we have seen flashes of his former brilliance but nothing consistent enough.

This season that has only been his fault once, I am pleased with how people have reacted to the clowns pointing their fingers at Schumacher, Jacky is right. They are biased or huge idiots.

The crash was caused by Monaco not being a track worthy of being on the F1 calender. That said I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Schumacher getting the points his skill deserves in the end. The fact he managed to do 1 good lap all weekend in a car with a qualification gimick will go mainly ignored by his acolytes. Here's a nice statistic, out of all the drivers this year Schumacher is statistically the worst.

Oh, and as for Aus, Schumacher went off track at the first bend on lap 10 and hit a large mound of earth, and that ended his race, however, as usual with this driver, an excuse other than 'driver error' had to be made.

Trying to take the moral high as you do when someone criticises Schumacher and then branding anyone who hates him as 'biased or huge idiots' is somewhat hypocritical. Don't you think?

Perhaps. But isn't it also true? Stuff like this can be hard to accept for one's hero. And I am sure you'll agree that idolisation can distort one's view, EMSC?

Knowing you feel such passion for your man, I feel genuinely sorry for you. I swear I would pass you a hanky for your tears (this is not sarcasm; I mean it). But I am not the least bit sorry for him.

I'll repeat that you have my sympathy; but I should add that I find Miggins' view rather more objective.

I'm still waiting for the idea that Austrailia was Schumachers fault to be proven. I would also argue Cosi from a more neutral position that Hatred has a similar distortion effect as a few in this thread can serve as proof of.

Yes, hatred is the other side of the coin, Julius. I accept that.
It is very difficult to be truly objective when one feels passionately about something.

Of course, we can only speak for ourselves, so I will add that I personally do not 'hate' Schumacher or anyone else I may not find to be a natural friend. As far as I know, I do not hate anyone or anything. But, as I've said elsewhere, I do like to see a little karmic justice. – I feel he's had it coming for an awful long time; and I sincerely hope he sticks around for as long as possible for a little more redress…

watch the replay and tell me that is a gearbox problem. He did almost exactly the same thing as Seb did a lap previously on his old tyres, except Seb managed to avoid hitting the earth mound. here, watch Schumachers 'gearbx problem' for yourself, it's at about 1.23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydWnAWUddWE&feature=related

Even if it was not a gearbox problem. Can you not hold back from biting him on the arse, every single time he DNFs. The problem in Oz has not been proven yet. So you can carry on presuming however much you like.

Schumacher is the lowest scoring driver (barring the 3 joke teams), even Massa is beating him now.

And your point is? How many times do we need to explain why? The wo3 has been very unreliable for him, even when he has produced the results in qualifying.
If were not for his non-finishes earlier this season, he would have been right up there.

Thats sheer delusion, he would have been around Grosjean probably, nowhere near the top.
