Woody signs for another year! I understand there is uncertainty around Upson and Huth, but extending the injury prone 32 year old does not make commercial sence (we are trying to lower our wage bill) and I dont think it makes footballing sence either. Thoughts?

I couldn`t agree more! I just don`t understand the decisions that are being made regarding whose contracts are getting renewed . If ever they needed to offload somebody it has to be Woodgate-- he`s absolute rubbish,as is Mama. The way things are going we will go down next season for sure.

I don't like it either Potts, but I don't like being told someone thinks I don't go watch my team play, it insinuates that I don't have a full grasp of what's going on, and pretty much under values my opinion, after all, if you don't pay out your hard earned and get down there every week, what right do you have to moan? I've been a Stoke fan for 12 years, had a season ticket for the last 7, apart from this seasons, I had to share one, but still managed to get tickets to most home games, watched streams the ones I didn't and every away match. Back to the point though, what I was trying to say Woody makes more sense than Mama, at least theres a chance he'll get a game at some point, will still be on pay as you play (unlike Mama), and yeah, Upson is better, but Woodgate did the job at CB, it was at RB when he had problems. I agree that Woody makes more sence than the resigning of Mamba, but that doesnt justify the decession or make it right overall! We have gone from having one of the best defensive line ups (CB wise) in the prem (IMO), and we are likely to be left with Shawx only at this rate - how things have gone wrong. What worries me most ist that TP builds his teams back to front (I.E. dont conceed etc...) yet we have never been more unstable in this area!
yes our defence looked ok not so long ago,but since we have had no decent full backs, we look all over the place,even shawcross has been poor,last season. Every time the ball came in the box,we panicked, we gave away a lot of soft goals.
