Not with Roy in charge, Rocky. Good game for him to start with, he knows the place well and they'll provide us with a decent, free-flowing game - they're not without players of great talent but just a bit short of being a cohesive unit. And he won't need an interpreter for the after match interview with NRK...
England didnt seem right with a foreign manager,it felt odd. there i said it. Now weve got one lets hope we can ignore the press, bunch of t*ss*rs that they are and whatever the result today get behind Roy who seems a decent man and a good coach. Oh and if i was him i would start with a blank sheet i would look at losing the big ego`s that hamstrung the the team in South Africa and bring in players that are younger, in form and and want to play for the shirt.
On a somewhat related note, don't suppose anybody has a working stream for it? My usual site is down :/
doesnt ITV player work? good to have an englishman back in charge and refreshing to have little expectations on us for a change
Not an impressive start for me. Norway kept possession too easily and we lost possession too easily. Against top sides I suspect we would look very, very average. Great goal though.
Evening all I don't think it was that bad a performance really, my expectations are pretty low for the Euros and he managed to keep a clean sheet against a team that hadn't lost at home in two years - and that included beating some pretty good sides. I'm pleased with Roy as the manager - his international experience far out-weighed Harry's and Liverpool were mad to get rid of him. I still don't have a problem with foreign managers though, as long as they do the job.
Not sure what more we can expect. It's Hodgson's first game after very little preparation time and we beat a decent Norway side away from home with one of the most average quality England squads in years. Like Jock, my expectations are very low at the moment but I think we have got the right man in Hodgson to get a team playing together rather than all individuals out for themselves.
