I don't know I f out this on here or Muzz but imo the main championship contenders are Vettel, Alonso, the McLarens, and Raikkonen and so you could say Hamilton is in the championship contenders Pole position being the first of those and it certainly showed in his body language in the intervieew. Is he permanantly high this year?

Basically Seb was closing Mark down towards the end and they told him to back off. Seb wanted to set the fastest lap but had to go through Mark to do it, in the end he was told to "maintain the gap". Went unnoticed as people considered Mark to be the lead driver in RBR and that Seb was too young to challenge the WDC.

Come Silverstone 2011 people go feral when RB did it to him, and as we saw refused to follow orders. Mark is quick and I never understood why people underrated him as even I remembered his Minardi, Williams days and he was pretty solid.

Like i have said in the past, Nico considered Webber a tougher rival than Schumacher. I'm not saying webber is better than Schumacher, just that everybody understands who Seb is up against.

I wouldn't like to name anyone as a main contender.

jenson will not be beating lewis if he is anywhere near his best this season.
ppl have been blinded by button beating lewis last season.if any team mate keeps making so many mistakes then you should beat them, especially if youre a WC yourself.
so its not like lewis was at his best and was still beaten,he was the worst ive ever seen him and jenson was at his best.jenson ofcourse still deserved to beat lewis, but ppl who think button is on the same level as lewis are deluded imo.button has too many flaws.he is normally outqualified,he needs the car to be perfect, and now the tyre king has become the skivvy.he's a good driver, but some ppl have got carried away when it comes to button.its all about what lewis does if button beats him or not.
    anyway,well done schumacher,webber,rosberg and lewis.
i hope lewis has a strong race tomorrow and gets off to a good start.

    Driver interviews:
    http://www1.skysports.com/formula1/video/12870/7779959

Massa says he's happy but 1:14.6 was possible, Kovalainen says he would have been in Q2 but was held up by a Marussia, Di Resta is boring as usual, Hulkenburg is happy with his lap, Button says car was good this morning but he didn't have the pace in qualifying, Alonso says his lap was good and 6th was the maximum, Kimi says it was hard to get the tyres up to temperature, Maldonado says he can fight for points and makes a lame excuse for hitting Perez, Perez says there was something wrong with the car.

Silver, what can you tell us about the drivers body language?

Well I had a quick glance at Lewis' body language right after qualifying and he was avoiding eye contact a bit. Might be worried that he isn't in the front and stuck with a lot of strong Monaco drivers around him.

Button 529 points, Hamilton 520 Over 44 races. Same number of wins, Button has three more podiums. Obviously Button is badly off form at the moment, but its fair to say they're normally pretty close.

Anyone seen a penalty awarded for that one, or the HRT holding someone up in Q1?

Body language if anybody is interested:

Massa: Slow relaxed body movement, seems satisfied with posistion but confident knowing he could of done better. Possibly now considers himself faster than Alonso around here. Scratched his nose on 0:59 about Q3, so he is annoyed about traffic that ruined his lap to get higher up the grid. He must reckon he had Alonso today on merit.
Upset rating out of 10, 4/10

Hekki: Both him and Petrov looked pleased with the car, traffic cost them entry into Q2 they possibly felt. 1:38 does a funny face with regard to the car, means he is happy with the progress. He knows they got the maximum out of the package but felt they deserved more.
Upset rating out of 10, 5/10

Vergne: Limited eye contact, licked his lips at the start, licks his lips again about his posistion at 2:06 but also weirdly tries to direct that Perez "did the same", trying to pull a "Hay I'm not crap, he also did it when he was a rookie so don't roast me" at 1:53 tries to pass it off as an issue with the track not himself, though he forgot to mention it was worse last year. He also pauses at 1:55-1:59 which for me gathers he's making excuses up as he goes. Timid laugh at 2:03 reckon he knew he ****ed up but it could of been worse and knows he got off lucky at Monaco. Upset rating out of 10, 6/10

Ricciardo: A lot of aggressive, agitated movement with his garments, the kids obviously ****ed off. A lot of avoiding eye contact, a lot of scratching so I gather he feels pissed off that he hit his limit, he knew he hit it, yet he got nothing for it, maybe felt he was choking under the pressure. Upset rating out of 10, 9/10

Di Resta: If you listen carefully you can hear him sighing when he is inhaling through the interview. Not sure what that means but I guess he is trying to calm down about something, probably Hulkenberg beating him or something! He believes they as a team were better placed earlier through the week, obviously not for him. Scratches nose at 3:31 reckon they are going for a long stratergy but only Hulk pulled it off correctly for a chance of decent points and he might have to go away with nothing no matter what he does.
Pissed off rating out of 10, 8/10

Hulk: Nothing much to say, seems happy with the place but likely felt could of got 1 more place or 2 if eveything went his way.
Upset rating out of 10, 2/10

Button: Oh dear! He does look unhappy with his performance, licks lip right from the start and almost slowly hangs his head in shame right at the start. Looks like Lewis ripped out his heart and stamped on it with how upset he looks. Body language shouts out he has already given up for the race considering how he felt earlier on and how far everybody else improved. Upset rating out of 10, 9/10

Alonso: Smiles at the start, probably cant believe how high up he is, must of truely believed it would of been lower. Feels he could of done better but the penalty for Schumacher was enough of a compensation for him. Looks more aggitated with regard to upgrades, must feel that Ferrari still have not done enough to close the gap to the front guys and is almost hinting out his "talent" cannot keep this up for long as desperation will likely be the last resort and it looks like it's getting closer for him to doing that. Upset rating out of 10, 7/10

Kimi: A lot of missing eye contact, seems to be getting annoyed with the Pirelli's now, he knows he has the car to do well, but he cant figure the tyres out still. Seems dissapointed with qualifying gathers it will now be a hassle to get on the podium as he rubs his face a lot talking about raceday. Upset rating out of 10, 7/10

Maldonado: Satisfied with the car, body language does look like he didn't intentionally intend to drive into Perez but felt more stupid than anything as he is mostly looking to his right which (if i remeber correctly) means he is accessing memory and not trying to fabricate it. Looks like he didn't even really bother to set a faster lap and just set a lap! Like Jenson he sounds like he has already given up for a great result and just looking for points. Upset rating out of 10, 6/10

Perez: Bits of lick lipping, angry how things turned out. Must of felt this was his chance to do well here and everybody else was ****ing up for him. Doesn't consider himself the fault for today's mess but Pastor and the car. Upset rating out of 10, 7/10

Ahhhhhh Seb says he went down the wrong route of setup unlike Mark. Seems to me Seb is now being tasked with more responsiblities now with his own car. Sign of the times Mark will be leaving? Horner does want to Keep Mark for another year until Seb is experienced enough to fully lead the team himself maybe?

Did not see that coming. I'm hoping Webber can convert pole tomorrow, failing that I hope Grosjean makes something happen from fourth.

Schumacher rolled back the years, I've come to despise in the last few weeks with his constant whinging about Pirelli and blaming Senna for their collision, but fair play to him, he pulled something out of the bag today. I can't find his pole lap but I was watching him and Rosberg a lot on board in FP3 and the car looked quick, Schumacher looked really tentative turning into the Nouvelle chicane and the second part of the swimming, where as Rosberg looked really confident, turning in early and precisely, but Nico made the same mistake every single time, taking too much kerb on the exit of the swimming pool and not being able to get the power down, presumably he didn't rectify this and that's where he lost time to Schumacher.

I think Maldonado's penalty is a joke, I thought it was incredibly lenient the first time, couldn't believe when he got off so lightly. The injustice of it compounded when the track rod broke on Perez's car on the wheel he hit and pitched him into the wall. I'm convinced this was a result of the impact, it's too much of a coincidence that the very next flying lap Perez does afterwards the failure occurs which nobody else has suffered all weekend. Pastor should've been DSQ'd in my opinion.

I'm pretty savage Red Bull didn't send Vettel out for a timed lap. What on earth were they thinking? Not bothering to do a lap on the circuit where qualifying is pretty much everything and where tyre management shouldn't be an issue. To make it worse his teammate starts on pole. <doh> He was 2/10ths of Webber in Q2, which would've been good enough for P3/4 in Q3, even if he was 4/10ths off he would've been 6th. Ridiculous decision, they have to be starting him on primes tomorrow. I haven't seen any reaction because the BBC decided to go straight to Countryfile or Total Wipeout or some ****e straight after quali <grr> so I don't know if RBR/Vettel have given a reason why he didn't do a lap.

Jenson came out with his usual post-quali excuse. I really think he's going to struggle this year, 4/10ths off his team mate in Q2 I think it was, one starts 3rd the other 12th. It's one thing making up for a poor quali if you're a row back, quite another doing it if you're half a grid away from your teammate, he's ruining his weekends before the race even starts.
