I remain undecided about Schumacher. Putting his 1st career aside, obviously 2010 was a bad year for him but after 3 years out doing nothing (unlike Rai) that was to be expected and he has clearly improved a lot since then. Last year, he was about the level of a decent enough grand prix driver in my opnion. Average (for an F1 driver) qually pace, slightly above average race pace. Very good starts, hit and miss wheel to wheel skills. Some good moves mixed up with crashes. I'd say he performed worthy to be in F1 in a midfield car. And to be an average F1 driver you have to be one of the best 18 track drivers on the planet. This year he has had quite a bit of bad luck as well as good performances and a few errors and it is really hard to judge his 2012 performance so far. He clearly did well today. It will be interesting to see If he can maintain todays form for the rest of the year, If he does its clearly a bit late to try for the championhip but If he can maintain todays form for the rest of the year then he should carry it into next year and then who knows. So far its hit and miss, so I guess we shall see.
Anyone can do a good job in qualifying. if he does well in the race (and i mean get a podium and deserve it) i'll congratulate it. Rosberg messed his lap up and still got 3rd. (2nd) the car is clearly good around here.
His sector 2 time was very quick though. He was immense through there, and I have always liked him tbh, I have always wanted him to be on the podium ever since his comeback.
I don't think that came into it today. Silverstone 2010 and 2011 it clearly came into play but it isn't present every week. You are opening up an uneccesay can of worms here lol, the race is tomorrow and If Vettel is going tactical then its not over for him by a long shot. Speaking of MArk Webber, slightly of topic but I have found a very enjoyable tribute clip for him imo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxiTnTAt7-k
You;d really hope he doesn't bin it at the first corner. I don't think even the best/(worst!?) drugs could ever have that much of a comedown effect on someone!
True it has been used in the past, but people forget Turkey 09 and Hungary 10 when team orders came into play against Seb, yet people said it was the right call to make yet 1 cost Seb the win and the other incident looked like it cost him the title in 09.
Thanks Max, I did.. lol I cried a bit. I had tears in both eyes. I guess people should start bashing Raikkonen on being out qualified by Grosjean.
I can't remember what happened in Turkey 09 but yeah I forgot about Hungary 10 where Webber was clearly the one who benefited. Did you like the tribute video btw?
Raikkonen is having a fantastic comeback. I fully expected it to be better than Schumachers for a whole range of reasons but it looks like he hasn't lost a thing.
Rosberg is in the same situation as Hamilton where the negative results count for more. Rosberg and Hamilton are expected to beat Button and Schumacher so its no big surprise when they do, reverse it and its a sign of things to come, the form book is changing. Vettel is in that position too as is Alonso but Alonso will not get beaten by Massa. If I beat a girl in a fight no one would batter an eyelid but If a girl beat me in a fight she would be awesome and everyone would fall in love with her. That said I do not expect Webber and Schumacher to beat thier teammates in the standings. I am unsure of Button.
