Makes Hamilton's head look positively ice cold!

Really has to stop those petulant pomements. Ruined what could have been another good GP for him

So you comend him for using his car as a battering ram to show his unhappiness at another driver!?

And if that happened in a different faster part of the circuit, Perez may have been seriously hurt.. (i'm on about Perez's crash)

ASChris: are you really surprised at EMSC's admiration for Maldonado? His admiration for fair play and good manners have never been particularly evident to me.

As for Maldonado himself: what he did was disgraceful. There is simply no room for that sort of thing in motor racing and he should be ashamed of himself for allowing his passion to get the better of him.

(One other point: I cannot think of an occasion where I would consider Hamilton as having been "petulant"!)

I'm hoping in Manny's excitement today he also lost his head, and will realise what a daft comment it was to make when he has calmed down or had 5 mins in the bathroom with a looped-replay of Schuey's pole lap...........

The best bit about it was Maldonado trying to explain it away by saying the tyres gripped too much and turned him into Perez. The turn in point for Portier is a good few metres after where Maldonado turned in. As the Sky commentators were saying, if Perez hadn't been there, and Maldonado was trying to make the turn, he'd have gone nose first into the barrier before the corner

He did it for Venezuela :emoticon-0178-rock:

Seriously though, he needs to learn to control his anger, he has ruined his race for a split-second strop. Why not wave a fist instead? That always makes me smile.

GRIPPED TOO MUCH? Schuey claimed these didn't grip enough!
    No pleasing some people.

Well he didn't do it on a speedy part of the lap did he? so no ifs and buts really. He did what he did, it is pleasing to see he has passion.

Had Perez's steering failed in the tunnel, you might take a differing view.

There is something wrong with the rules when yuo get penalties like Hamiltons in Spain and drivers who are allowed to take deliberate swipes at other drivers on track and get 10 place grid drops.

Especially when it's not a first offense. They should have a word in his shell and threaten race bans if it happens again.

I'm all for aggressive driving, but displays like that can't be tolerated. If it were a driver like Schuey or Hamilton pulling a similar stunt, there would be uproar.

To even mention Senna's name alongside Maldonado and to continue to defend what Maldanado did certainly does you no favours.

Would it be foolish to suggest that the wealth of Maldonaldo Senior has been able to convince officials that he just requires a little talking to from his father, and no other action? It would appear to have worked in lower formulae.

This is taken from the FIA press release of the Schumacher-Villeneuve incident in 1997:

Personally, I feel that the Maldo-Perez incident this weekend was made with malice, whether premeditated or not, which to me makes it a worse offence than Schumacher was found guilty of. There was also far, far less riding on the event, so there can be no attempt to justify it on those grounds. Why was Schumacher excluded from the championship, yet Maldo only received a 10 place grid drop? Add into the mix the fact he has priors with Hamilton last season, and that he's been previously 'banned for life' from the Monaco circuit, and I really can't see why he is still allowed to compete in F1.

I wouldn't call him an idiot, he just seems to suffer from the red mist, happens to the best of us. What he did was unexcusable though (unless aimed at one L. Hamilton)

Ste Devote 2011? Turned in early there as well. So Maldanado should have got the penalty afterall. 12 months on and the situation is finally cleared up!

wow comparing an incident from qually 2012 in which schumacher took part to an incident in 1997 in which schumacher was part really hits it home how long he's been around.
