Moras;Butler, and Cotterill are long gone. "Comprehensive list". Perhaps they could also produce a "Grammar School list",so we can compare them.
Vangelis Moras 26 Aug 1981 Defender Ashley Richards 12 Apr 1991 Defender Ferrie Bodde 5 May 1982 Midfielder Thomas Butler 25 Apr 1981 Midfielder David Cotterill 4 Dec 1987 Midfielder Mark Gower 5 Oct 1978 Midfielder .These are the only players we can get rid of ...so the rest of the players who fans want to see go like lita, moore.etc are still under contract and if we dont get any offers then they will stay....i can see why brendan has mentioned that he wants 5-6 players....
I'd take on out of that list..... Shane Lowry 12 Jun 1989 Defender Junior Hoilett 5 Jun 1990 Striker Ivan Klasnic 29 Jan 1980 Striker Ryan Noble 11 Jun 1991 Striker Joe Mattock 15 May 1990 Defender Mohamed Diame 14 Jun 1987 Midfielder Wages for Hoilett, Klasnic & Diame might be a stretch, but the other 3 are all great prospects and would be looking to revive their young careers...
Out of all the players on the grand list the only ones I would be interested are: Jazz - new contract immediately Petrov - Bolton - replace Gower Kalou - Chelsea Droga - Chelsea - global shirt sales alone would cover his wages - he's a "name" and can still do it.
Petrov's game has aged well , his crossing of the ball is as good as anyone these days . Jazz , new contract immediately .... please !
Junior Hoilett could be a worthwhile signing. Diame and Klasnic are good too. What about Andy Johnson and Michael Owen - two experienced proven goalscorers in the PL, although fitness and wages will be an issue. Maybe we should sign Heskey for the purposes of comedy?
Hugo Rodallega 25 Jul 1985 Striker Sam Ricketts 11 Oct 1981 Defender Danny Guthrie 18 Apr 1987 Midfielder would not mind giving these a chance...
The same Rodallega who wanted £50k a week in the winter transfer window, before he was even available on a free? No ta ..... he aint that good!
he would have to set his sights much lower than £50k/week to allow anyone taking him on, good player that has scored some great goals, i give him a chance if the wages was acceptable....
On acceptable wages is a must for any player , goes without saying IMO when talking about Swan transfer wishes .
But they won't be acceptable. He wants £50k a week plus. You might as well say we will give Messi a chance if his wages are acceptable! How he thinks he's worth that, I don't know ... but someone will pay it (QPR or Spurs)
you never know..never say never....he wont get £50k / week with anyone especially qpr. teams are trying to cut the wages paid to players and rod is no messi is he....wigan wont pay him and thats why they have not given him an extension on his contract. i cant see anyone else in for him either. he will have no choice than to cut his demands to a minimum of half what he wants otherwise he could find himself without a club. the days of demanding high wages for bog standard players has gone..only the so called super stars have bargaining powers now and everyone else has to accept teams wage policy or its goodbye premiership and go foreign...
ok ....watch this space buddy. He's on a free and can 'demand' a portion of what would usually be his transfer fee as a signing on fee (greedy git). The club's that are interested will give in as well, since they are not having to pay the £4 million he was valued at in January (£4 mill plus 3 years @ £2.5 million =£11.5 mill). Now I can see that some would think that this is good business, as a 3 year contract at approx £1 mill signing on fee and £2.5 mill wages per year equates to a total spend of £8.5 million over 3 years ... but what effect would that have on the current team on someone who may/may not get in the first team?
