Once again its the fans who suffer, fancy having to go to such football giants as Billingham Synthonia, Newton Aycliffe, shildon, norton and stockton ancients and not forgetting the mighty Hebburn Town. Seriously though its a great shame
Balls to 'em. They beat us at the last game at Boothferry Park. Didn't half spoil my party. Do they still play at the Reynolds Arena?
Good article from David Conn about this. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/...rlington-insolvent-arena-trust-administration
A big disappointment for my husband when a health problem led us to cancel a visit to Hull for that match. He had been at the first League match held at Boothferry Park in 1946. In 2012-13 Darlington will play at Shildon with a ground capacity of 2500.(Shildon is about 10 miles from Darlington) Founded in 1883 the club will battle on and who knows what the future holds. My support for them will never diminish. I do have a second team Liverpool and with my husband supporting Hull City and he too having a second team( Sunderland) there is always a lot of football to talk about.
As you mentioned them, I bet Darlington are glad they weren't treated as harshly as Leeds fans insist they were when they failed to form a CVA.
Agreed. They can at least rebuild and return the proper way. There are many clubs who should have suffered the same fate. West Ham are one who should have had a similar punishment over the Tevez fiasco, imo. Staines V. West Ham Utd looks a nice fixture to me. Lol.
According to yorkshire post not everything is rosey at bellend rd http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/latest-whites-news/leeds-united-so-what-s-stopping-the-flood-of-new-arrivals-ordered-by-neil-1-4586258
Thank god we never ended up coming close to this situation too. Oh Look back in amber, do not even think about dissing the lovely Mrs BMB. Some people love football for the sake of loving football, and there is absolutely nothing wrong in that. Lots of people have "second" teams or other teams they sort of keep an eye on.
Spot on. I went to the Sheff U v Stevenage game t'other night as i was working in the area. I'll go watch football wherever i am working. How are St Neots doing anyway Madhog? Saw them a few times when i was down there. I keep telling people to look out for them as they have a chairman splashing the cash.
I live in Huntingdon, we don't get the local Hunts Post here in Hinchingbrooke for some reason (think Daily Fail but worse...much much worse) so hard to keep up to date with how they're doing, although I did hear they have plans and are doing pretty well. I too have seen footy games all over the UK and in fact the world, always happy to watch 20 blokes kick a ball round a pitch while 2 others try to stop them scoring. Having lived all over the place too, usually pick up a local team and keep an eye on them, go watch them when I can etc too. I find if I wear my needlers teletubby patched shirt, I get some friendly banter and a few beers bought for me after the game too!
It appears that some people are lost, the Happy Clappers board is down the corridor, third door on the left
I used to always look out for Darlo results, one of my best mates in the Army was a Darlo fan, never forget going to France 98 with him and on the train there we where all taking it in turn to sing our clubs songs when he got up everyone just started laughing but in the end everyone was singing Na Na Darlo
