Henry was more prolific, made more assists, better technique and more exciting to watch.
Drogba spent the first half (arguably all) of his Chelsea career diving on the floor, bulldozing through defenders but scoring crucial goals - albeit nowhere near as often as Henry.

He's a Chelsea legend for the goals he scored in their big games, but for me, he's another just good striker of which the PL have seen plenty of.

He's not in the top bracket with Henry, Shearer, Bergkamp or Heskey and rightfully so for me.

  2. Different types of player so very difficult to say. However, I'll say Henry just because of how irritating Drogba's antics are <ok>

Edit: Can you imagine a 4231 with Drogba, Henry, Zola and Bergkamp...?

    GK
    RB - CB - CB - LB
    CM - CM
    Zola - Bergkamp - Henry
    Drogba

Replace Drogba with Shearer and it would be a better team though....

Shearer and Brgkamp would have made a truely dead strike force back in the day. Put Heny on one of the wings instead and you have a side that nobody could have touched.

Goals win games at the end of the day, too much is made of pace in the modern game.

Its typical of a chelsea fan to ask for unbiased answers but when these unbiased fans don't give them the answer they want, chelsea fans then try and brainwash people by spouting crap about what in their mind makes one player superior then the other.

But as for the question, they are different strikers.

Henrys game was based on skill, running at defenders with pace and skill, and the ability to score from any angle, while also having superb style and quick feet.

Drogbas game is based on power, movement and is great in the air and being able to quickly change from having his back to goal to then lashing in a superb long range effort (which i know only too well!).

As for the stats about finals, all that proves is that Drogba excels in high pressure finals yet that isn't what defines a player as its the games against all teams, of all levels which count as if it was easy to score 20-25 premier league goals a season every year then drogba shouldn't have a problem should he, which is why its ridiculous to just talk about finals.

Overall they are both world class strikers so its foolish to want to compare them.

I have to say, reading this thread on both the Liverpool and United board has made for a very pleasant read. :)

What the hell are you on about? If I had the power to "brainwash" people I'd be counting my millons not stuck on this forum <doh>

its fairly simple to see who was better, as in most effective.

Compare premiership goals to games ratio, they're there to score goals for the team not just play well in finals as that is probably the only one sided stat in Drogba's favour. Maybe drogba would have scored far more if he didn't go down so fkn much pretending to be hurt.

    Drogba very good
    Henry Class

Shearer all time prem best for me

    Both very different.

Henry was magical, really sublime to watch.

Drogba was unplayable on his day. I remember him scoring that awesome turn and volley against us, Carra was helpless.

I'll say Henry out of personal preference though.
