Asking you guys this as you came up against both regularly and can be neutral but it's a question that has popped up on Talksport.

I'm just basing this purely on football

Henry by a country mile. He was a winger and turned into one of the best strikers in the Premiership. Numerous golden boot awards along with some spectacular goals (the turn and volley against United was my favourite in the recent best strikes in Prem history).

As a gunner i want to say Henry, but Drogba was a big game player so I will say both. With them both playing for Arsenal.

have to agree with IBWT. Henry offered far more than Drogba. Having said that, Drogba was still one of the best CFs ever to grace the Premiership but he was let down by his moodiness and play-acting.

    Is this a serious question?

    Henry.

Drogba yes was a top striker, far from the quality of Henry though.

    Henry - 0 goals 5 finals

    Drogba - 9 goals 9 finals

It may be biased of me to say but I'd rather Drogba as he'll show in the bigger ties <ok>.

Depends what you mean by quality though ZZ, Henry was very pleasing to watch but Drogba is the complete striker and unplayable on his day. Once Henry had lost that yard of pace he wasn't as effective.

Drogba only managed +20 league goals twice in 8 seasons at Chelsea.

Henry managed it 5 times in 8 seasons.

    Drogba.

he has scored so many important goals time and time again.

    Both are incredible players.

I'd say Henry but no discredit to Drogba, they are different styles of players both capable of changing a game by themselves.

Combined they would be the ultimate striker! <ok>

I understand what you're saying but surely you'd rather have someone on your team who brings it to the big games (finals) rather than smaller ones?

Different types of striker. I think its closer than people think. Drogba on his day is unplayable.

Henry perhaps edges it for me.

Henry was by far the superior player, Drogba only scored more than 20 goals in all competitions twice while he was in England

I know I'm a Chelsea fan, but I too will say Henry. Throughout the season Henry would be a lot more consistent and be the better choice for an attacking side or one that played stylish football. Arsenal and Barcelona suited his style of play (even though Henry seemed frustrated with the amount Barca players wished to keep possession instead of the typical pass and play). With that said, when it came to the big games - the cup finals and league deciders - I would take Drogba every time as he has the confidence and the bottle to go all the way and not choke at the final hurdle. He will turn up and do his best to ensure victory for the club. He also has the greater physical presence - taller, bigger, stronger, more powerful and would be the number one asset for a physical and/or defensive side.

So you're discounting the rest of the season?

Henry had 24 assists and 23 goals just in the league one season. That is absolutely crazy for Premier league standards no matter how you look at it. Drogba has been one of the best strikers in the premier league at least, but Henry was one of the best strikers in the history of football.

I'll just say this, for all of Drogba's goals in cup finals Henry will be remembered by the British public long after Drogba is forgotten.

It may be a bit OTT but stupid it ain't. Henry will be remembered for both his goals and his style of play. Drogba will be remembered for being moody and feigning injury - only after that will non-Chelsea fans say "and he also scored some good goals".

Anyway you buggers owe me 10 Euros - you weren't supposed to bloody WIN! <laugh> Belated congrats BTW

Not really. Why does Drogba never get into an all time premier league XI and Henry gets into at least three quarters of them?

You're letting your bias of Drogba's recent CL performances blind you. And even then, you've got to remember he's only been really good in the latter stages of the CL this season. This season and last season he's been very average overall compared to his usual standards.

But most people that watch football know little about it and have little appreciation for it.

Paul Scholes, Claude Makelele Denis Irwin and Bergkamp in their prime should comfortably make it into any PL XI ahead of Gerrard, Keane, Neville and Henry but people select based on popularity not ability.

Very few people that watch football have a genuine understanding and appreciation of the game which is sad really. Sky and tv have created a real superficiality about football.

Drogba only won player of the month once and was pipped to player of the year by Rooney despite scoring more goals and being part of a double winning team. Picking XI's never has nor will be based on ability because if that were the case Ramires, Lucas, Mikel and Song would be recognised as some of the best midfielders in the PL
