Typed Steven Fletcher into twitter and the first thing that comes up; Transfer news: Sunderland table £7m bid for Steven Fletcher. Hope its true
As a mag I hope your wrong, as he is a good player who will do a good job for you and the guy who should be your main priority.
It's all gone very quiet Holt-wise our end.I don't really know what to read into that.Lambert has pretty much said he's not going to Villa so there could be a connection there. My guess is that Holt will get double bubble and stay.
I am at a point now where I dont care what we pay, just get the lad signed. Price always gets discussed wether the player turns out great or pap but we just need a centre forward so much that just pay and £7million might be a bit high but if it gets the deal done quick then fair play
The season is barely 2 weeks gone and you have already reached the point where you don't care, it is going to be a long , long summer for you mate. But why the rush, the window dosn't officially open until July 1st, I am sure. MON and his team are working very hard to bring in the right type of players.
I dont care how much we pay and I also dont care when we sign him but hopefully we sign him. Theres no rush I just was getting at the price debate.
He is my number one target this summer for me up front. Fits all the right criteria of what MoN is looking for imo. Great track record, great team player, hard worker, scores goals and will be a fans fav very quickly and a perfect age. £7m is not too rich for me, especially when and if we sell Gyan, he will cost nothing net.
Dont see what the big fuss is personally. Bendtner got 8 goals and 5 assists Fletcher got 12 goals and 2 assists but in a team he was used to and in a few more games than Bendtner. Just cant see the big deal with this lad when most said Bendtner was ****e and he should go back. If we do get him or Holt (not too bothered about Holt either tbh) then I hope they prove me wrong and set the blue touch paper next season, Just cant see it though im afraid.
Thing is Steve, fletcher scored 12 goals every year for the last 3 years in poor sides with limited chances produced for him. He has played 106 games and scored 36 goals; is rarely injured and his workrate and team ethic is tremendous. He is a big fit mobile lad as well and he creates gaps and opportunities for others. A strike rate of a goal every 3 games isn't bad either. I really like this player and think if would be a perfect fit.
Holt scored 15 in 24 appearances and 12 as a sub.As his sub appearances were usually on about the hour that is equivalent to 28 full games.15 goals....
I posted a thread about Fletcher a month back about how in the league season just gone he had the best chance conversion rate in the whole league. Can't argue with that stat, i dare bet if he'd played in United or City team this year he'd have notched 20+
It genuinely says. Emile Heskey spotted in Sunderland, its thought he was aiming for Middlesbrough but missed.
