Seen a link today that says we are set for further talks when (if) warnock returns from holiday. Seems unlikely with our apparent cash crisis.

My question to those who who massively against signing him when the rumour came out a few weeks back is: Due to our lack of transfer activity since, has your opinion changed to thinking '**** it just sign him' just to see someone come in the door to bolster our depleted squad. OR. are you still against signing the sewer rat?.

After all- beggars cant be choosers.

If anyone's going to get him to behave, it's Warnock. I wouldn't say I'm in the '**** it, sign him anyway' camp, but I was never particularly against his signing because he's a top player at this level. If Warnock wants a team of Dioufs and Bartons then **** it, at least they might have some bloody passion <ok>

Stop it with this 'Warnock can handle bad attitude players'. He couldn't handle Taarabt and he couldn't handle Barton.

Warnock is a mug, he doesn't have anywhere near as much know-how and man-management skills as what people keep saying he does

Couldnt handle Taarabt? ****ing hell he got player of the year and tore the league to shreads. Id love to have seen how he'd have played if warnock managed to sort his attitude out and get him focusing on football....

Well Taarabt didn't play too badly for him did he?

And name me one manager that's managed to get Barton to behave.

I don't expect Warnock to be able to keep Diouf out of trouble, but I think he'd do a better job with him than someone like Grayson would do.

I think we need a dose of reality check... We haven't the funds to buy decent quality players, nobody is going to spend money on Paynter and company so the best we can expect is to lose their wages. Warnock is going to be left scratching for free players who's wage demands are not those of an ambitious type. The cream will go to Ipswich, Wednesday or one of the other teams who have a chairman that backs their manager. Diouf is probably the best quality we can hope for, anyone wishing for better than that is going to be in for a major shock.

The guy practically did what he wanted, warnock had no control, how many times did we here about controversy regarding taarabt in that season. I actually didn't think he was that good that season really and the step up in level proved it. There were certainly players that I thought deserved it more than him

Just because a player is playing well doesn't mean that the manager is man-managing them properly.

To be fair kiwi, I dont think many managers are worse at man-managing than grayson

Diouff is a nasty horrible little man who should have been banned years ago. At his best, he's a class act. But spitting at fellow professionals is the lowest of the low. Maybe Warnock can sort him out, maybe he can't. Me I just think that if, as has been alleged, we can't afford £450k for Ward, why would Diouff come to Leeds on possibly good money given that our stars might be walking out the door imminently?

I don't recall hearing any controversy regarding Taarabt in that season Josh, but feel free to send me anything you find, I'm probably wrong <ok>

You didn't think he was that good and you thought other players deserved it more?! The guy scored 19 and assisted 15 in 44 games. Granted he hasn't been quite as good in the premier league, but he's been okay and he's still young and will improve with regular games in the division. To say he wasn't that good in the championship is just plain stupid. Didn't appear to have any problems with Warnock that season either.

The point on Grayson not being a good man-manager though, fair point <ok>

Well I just went onto the wikipedia page for taarabt and he went mental when he was left out of the Moroccan side in the year when QPR were promoted from the Championship, including not showing up for the game and saying he will never play for Morocco again (The manager must give a whole mood change to a player at all times, not just when playing for QPR, this proves he had bad temper. He also had many arguments with Warnock the following year when they were in the premier league, notably Warnock saying he would happily sell him if an offer came through the door.

That was only on Wikipedia, where people normally go on to to speak up about an 'awesome player' and not many negatives show up. Can't be bothered to look for specifics to be honest but I recall at least 2 incidents in the season where they got promoted. I don't have to look for anything for Joey Barton as I'm sure you know enough about that debacle

We know he had a bad temper, I meant controversy involving Warnock in that promotion season. Sorry, should've made that clearer.
I wasn't aware he had an argument with Warnock the following season, just assumed he said he'd sell him as he needed transfer funds and Taarabt hadn't hit the same heights he did in the previous season. Also thought Taarabt wanted a move back to France? Might be wrong on that one.

Obviously Barton is an obvious one, but as I said, no manager has ever really controlled him so it's not fair to say Warnock can't handle bad attitude players on the grounds he had a bust up with Joey Barton.

Well he brought taarabt off and had a huge argument with him in the changing rooms. He didn't play for the next 4 games or so. He had very similar problems in the season prior but he was on good form so Warnock didnt drop him

100% in agreement with this. Yes he might have some playing class, but he has no class as a human and we shouldn't even consider resorting to the likes of him and Barton type players

The man would be a disgrace to the shirt. Mind you, he'd be a disgrace to any team that might sign him. Here's hoping that delightful gentleman's career is over
