Bruce waiting on call to make (another) Wigan return Steve Bruce is a wanted manager after his exile â with Hull City keen to tempt him out of exile and a return to Wigan on his horizon. Hull City want Bruce to come out of âretirementâ following his axeing by Sunderland a lengthy spell on the sidelines and away from the dug-out. Deny of the tiger: Barmby loses appeal against Hull sacking Bruce is the ideal choice of the Tigers who have been interviewing candidates since parting company with Nick Barmby. He has the experience and fan appeal that their owners are looking for. However sources close to Bruce say that he is not keen to jump straight into the Hull post as he thinks he will have a big chance of going back to the Premier League with Latics. Bruce was manager of Wigan twice before - walking out on Dave Whelan twice - but the veteran supremo still holds him in high regard. And if Roberto Martinez leaves in the next few days Bruce would be in contention for the post at his old club as he is a free agent and willing to work with Whelan. Spanish fly: Martinez jets into Miami for talks with Liverpool owners It is a sudden flurry of interest for Bruce who was taking some time off after his Sunderland experiences but is ready to return - although his backroom staff may be different next time. Bruceâs old number two Eric Black is at Blackburn Rovers and happy to stay with Steve Kean after years beside his old manager.
we dont want him back DW already said we will carry on playing the same kind of football we play now not bruces "football"
Wigan owner Dave Whelan says Roberto Martinez is meeting with Liverpool's owners in Miami. Whelan gave Martinez permission to speak to the Reds last week and has given his manager a deadline of 5 June to resolve his future. "Roberto is in Miami today and you can only assume what he's gone there for [to talk to the Liverpool owners]," Whelan told BBC Sport. "He is honest and up front and I expect to hear from him in the next 48 hours."
and in anouther interview he said along the lines of if we lose roberto we we are too far down the road to change the style of football now
Sarcasm i believe nmg... I wish him all the best for the 2...average years he had at the club and hope he does better in the future HOWEVER any club who takes him on, good luck!
Wigan, Huddersfield & Crystal Palace are about the right size of club fpor Bruce but heres's my wild stab at this. I reckon Lambert could go very easily go to Villa in the summer (despite him sounding like he isnt interested, Villa are much bigger a club than Norwich) and then Bruce will go to Norwich imo. Other than that I couldnt give a rats arse about Bruce.
If Bruce goes to Norwich or Wigan I'll be having a couple of bob on them to go down. That's how highly I rate Bruce.
For me I find it strange, that a man who has dumped a club TWICE, would even dream that he would be welcomed back, For a third spell. as we all know, he has not got a lot of loyalty in his makeup. I think he has deffo shot his bolt and hopes on this one.
