Well that's my point. He has done well at both domestic and international level.

Of course England are playing 'lesser opposition' most of the time, we are one of the highest ranked teams in the world. <doh>

  4. No, I didn't mean lesser opposition in that way. In the eighties and earlier, England rarely played someone of the standard of Andorra, San Marino, Moldova, Kazakhstan, etc since not as many nations took part in football or, indeed, existed. Therefore, managers of England from previous years (that you are comparing Capello too) had harder games on paper than Fabio had to face when it came to the qualifying games. Nor was there as many friendlies or qualifying games to play which also means harder tournament games play a larger part in that win percentage calculation.

You can only play what's in front of you as they say, and if you wanted to use your logic against football statistics in general, it would simply mean that modern football is easier - but of course it really isn't.

Although some of the teams you mention are new and most from the former Soviet Union, players are fitter and better organised. It's a bit patronising to say that they're not very good because they're new nations... look at Croatia for instance. <ok>

He already left Barca mate. He wouldn't be leaving to go to us.

    Reality check? Irony.

Guillem Balague was in the press conference and he says that Pep actually said he would be willing to return in a few months.

He has said a number of times he admires LFC, especially our youth system. I can't see it to be honest, Chelsea will probably get him.

Can't see him going to Chelsea, the pressure will be just as much there as Barca if not more. If he starts like AVB he'll be sacked. I dont think he'll be managing next season. Would be nice though I could really see players like Sterling and Suso flourishing under him.
