He's looked class recently, he'll be something different that few other international teams have, could be a great weapon.

Sorry Cheik, but with the rest of the squad that has been named, and I hope Im wrong on this, perhaps exchanging the word weopon, for tool , might work better. personally, Roy and young andy, had no chance. blame the FA for that, but the Euros right now, for me mean nowt. Roy had no time to look at players nor assemble a team. I wait for the next world cup quallifiers. then we will see.

He's back near the kind of form that got Liverpool to pay 35 million, that's class in my book.

If we play to his strengths ie get it wide, float it in high, then he's going to be hard for any defence to contain. I fancy our chances of a semi final if he leads the line.

I understand the feelings toward him due to his exit from Newcastle but I'd wouldn't be so to quick to NOT put some money on him to score. He's might be a total arse but he's still has a nose for goal.

Look at the clown Crouch and his record for goals in an England shirt. I think he will cause all sorts of problems -as CTR says he has hit form recently, for instance, in the FA Cup he was the best player on the field, but for an outstanding save by Cech, he could have single-handedly won the game.

Are they going to let him sneak a wardrobe onto the pitch to hide in???? Definitely tuning in for that!

The problem is that he is probably is the best we have got with Rooney being out for the first two games which is a sad state of affairs.

When MON has had Gabby at the SoL for a year things will be different!

    I'm in the for camp.

I agree with Cheik that he was excellent last 5-6 weeks, and teams simply can't defend against players like that on their game.

I won't be surprised to see a 'Shearer 96' Euros from Carroll, I really won't.

I think big strikers, the likes of which are very uncommon abroad, may just be the type of player that these international teams can't defend against. About time we utilised that fully imo.

    Me either MoN.

Unfortunately, Roy H, didnt have a lot of time to put this together, and with the injuries and drop outs, plus Rooneys ban, things have not been the best. So because I am a bit superwhatsit geezer, I am going to bang A daft tenner on England to win the competiton........................Well Denmark won it as wildcards, Greece won it, so why not our shambolic lot? This could be the year of change, good things come in threes, as do bad things, even the unexpected come in threes.

    1, Man City win premiership

    2, Chelsea win champions league

    3, ..............................................?

Why not England for number three, after all its only a tenner, and the odds must be good, surely.

If Carroll puts himself about he could be a weapon. His work-rate is excellent so if he ****s up it won't be through lack of trying. I just hope he gets some decent service from the midfield
