No it wasn't.....................no it wasn't........................... Wondered why the crowd were cheering so hard?
He He I was there on that corner (The twat blowing the vuvuzela when Alonso goes past with everybody blowing airhorns at me when Hamilton goes past ) when he went off at the start and did think Karma was in play.
I was on the old pit straight, Jenson was right in front of us as well which was a bonus since he was the defending champ. Luckily I was wearing a Mercedes cap (name speaks for it self) at the time because I would of hit somebody if they thought it was a good idea to "press a button" if I was wearing RBR gear. Seb did learn a big lesson that day, don't squeeze another driver!
Lewis Hamilton calm about not having won a race in 2012 yet and LH on Monaco The McLaren boat seems to be holding together and I think this year Hamilton is very much making up for last year. I believe they may stick together for a few more years
The way Whitmarsh has been speaking about Lewis sounds like they are close to a deal in my opinion and just a few things remain, probably how many events he wants to limit himself which is understandable considering the deals with other drivers and their teams. Or take into perspective the driver that needs the most "mentioning" in the media, is the weakest of his drivers mentally and he has to support him over the other. That's what I saw with Jenson in 2010-11, he needed more support than Lewis mentally as he thought Lewis was strong enough to sort himself out last season considering the past years of intense pressure, a mistake I think he regrets now as Lewis looked like he needed the most attention last year, not Jenson. I'm not trying to stir things up, but I think 2011 was the climax for Lewis mentally crumbling. Driving wasn't the issue or the glamour I believe, but that Lewis was starting to look at driving negatively considering his past with his father who you could say was one of those typical "prove it to me" fathers when they were both younger. You can see it in his body language in interviews that he gets slightly agitated regarding his father son relationship in the past when he was go-karting. He wasn't just having a bad year, I think he was mentally breaking down with what was going through his head. Depression maybe? Many people suffer with it and I wouldn't look down on him if he admitted it, it's just the support suddenly has magnified and he looks a lot happier for it and it's not because of his race performance and I'm glad he is back in a mental place of possible normality. Leaving Switzerland to Monaco looked to be the right direction rather than isolation as I think that's what did it to him, feeling alone!
If there is any truth to this story, Whitmarsh must be crazy - he can't seriously expect Hamilton to take such a big paycut. I'm sure Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes would be willing to pay a lot more than 10 million if they really wanted Hamilton.
Cue the conspiracy theorists who think Whitmarsh is out to jeapardise Hamilton's career. McLaren aren't helping themselves at all.
... and now they're going to offer him 20 million http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mo...-offer-Lewis-Hamilton-a-new-20m-contract.html
Equal pay for drivers and a certain limit look to be the next task for teams to get more money with limited spending. And that the grid has never been stronger in decades, they could easily replace Lewis with somebody else if he refuses.
How much does Button get paid? It could force Hamilton to Mercedes if McLaren won't shift over this. I doubt Red Bull would offer him significantly more than McLaren, Webber and Vettel are 'only' on £7m, I really doubt they'd go and give Hamilton potentially more than double what they give Vettel. How reliable is Yalla?
Hasnt Hamilton been promised that original Orange LM mclaren if he becomes a triple WDC with Mclaren? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/CARS/FEATURES/lewis_hamilton_mclaren_f1.html
And they could, (Kimi, Grojsean, Maldonado, Kamui, Perez, Di Resta, Rosberg) and possibly also (Hulk, Vergne, Ricciardo). If they get too big for their boots and start getting greedy I'm sure teams wouldn't find it too much hassle to find another young driver for a third of the cost and just needing the right direction to repeat the performances.
Yeah but bonuses paid Sebs wages last year and I believe he made as much as Alonso did when he dominated.
I bet Jenson's chuffed! performed equal to Lewis since he has been at Mclaren and paid half the fee? I think 10 million a year is enough for any driver in a top team with a shot at the WDC.
I have got no issue with a driver making stupid money on performances, but to get 20 million out of the box and external commercial income aswell is obscene - IMO!
