Not George Burns and a wife called Gracie? Sorry H, probably before the time of a mere slip of a girl.
Fair play to him for at least trying - a lot of better known players or managers would probably not bother and have their interviews conducted through an interpreter.
it is true, you don't know its not true because you always have saliva in your mouth. google it if you don't believe me.
That's the major problem with Google and the internet - people seem to think it is infallible and very often they simply misinterpret what they find there, or don't research thoroughly enough. Fact #1: There are plenty of people in the world who, for one reason or another, cannot produce saliva - so, they don't always have it in their mouths. if you know of anyone who has had cancer of the mouth, ask them; Fact #2: All that you need to taste food is the presence of a liquid, which need not be naturally produced saliva. It is true that you can taste food without saliva, however the taste will be different from that experienced with saliva because of the enzymes it contains - enzymes which start the process of digestion. And if you don't believe me, ask your biology teacher - I'm sure that he/she would have studied the same material as I had to to gain a teaching degree.
There are some cases where blissful ignorance is preferable to detailed knowledge. Would I have kissed all those girls if I'd known they were adorning themselves with fish scales?
