Hello everyone ! New member here. I have been reading posts on this forum since (God rest its soul) the old BBC 606 and I have finally taken the plunge and signed up. I'm an 18 year Chelsea fan, whose first game was against Southampton in 2000. Surprisingly for my generation, i'm not a glory hunter as I began supporting the team pre-major success because of my Dad who comes from Kensington and therefore chose The Blues as his team as a kid in the 70's. So there you go, up the Blues and KBFFH ! Nissassa
Berks Just thought I'd add my congrats, while laffing at the Spuds You've still got no history though please log in to view this image
Cym---I wondered where you were! Sorry to here you're not in the best of health! I wish you a speedy recovery!
Thanks Supermac! Just thought you'd have been aware we've just created history! First London club to get the Big One, first PL player to get 9 goals in 9 finals etc , etc
If Arsenal continue to qualify for CL this regularly, as expected, they will win it too one day. They deserve a European Cup as much as us.
I was at that one as I didn't miss one at the Bridge that season. Blowed if I can remember the score though!
They wont. If they couldn't get close from 2001-2004 when they were easily the best team in the country I struggle to see the. Doing it with this squad. Their best chance was in Paris and they blew it, Barca in 2006 were nowhere near as good as when we beat them in 2005 and under Rijkaard got progressively worse season after season. Arsenal wouldn't beat any of the English teams over 2 legs never mind the Spanish or Italian teams
Maybe if Bergkamp wasn't the non-flying Dutchman we might of had some success by now. But I can't see us winning it anytime soon now
Bergkamp would have been class on European stage, real shame that. It all depends on the draw though. Whilst Arsenals record in Europe against English teams is poor City are inexperienced at this level. If Arsenal could get an also ran in the Last 16 and then get City in the QF and win from the semi onwards it's open game. I couldnt believe it when you got hammered by United in 08/09 as I was convinced it was going to be a Chelsea v Arsenal final in Rome that year. I long for the day when English football is dominant in Europe again, those all English ties ranked as the best in my book
