Anyone interested in tennis? Who do you think will win the Mens and Womens? I think Djokovic and Sharapova will both win
Lulz. Well Nadal for the mens, he's pretty much unbeatable on clay when he's 100% fit. He just beat Djoko in Rome Masters and there's only him who can challenge really. Womens is more open, Sharapova just won in Rome, you can never ignore either Williams sister, Azarenka, Kvitova.
Sharapova won't win many more Slams, she's too focused on other things now to the detriment of her tennis. Womens tennis is quite open these days but with Clijsters having announced another retirement she might go out with another bang. Can't argue with Nadal winning, the guy is a beast on clay.
Maria does have alot of endorsements, it's not like she needs to win anymore Slams, she got her first when she was 17 and then the money just piled in
I think the french is my favourite of the slams - due to the slow surface the rallies are longer and power seems to be less important. That said, nadal has the ability to play shots on clay that look like they've been played.on a hard court. For that reason its difficult.to.see.beyond him for.the.title. For.the.women you may as well draw a name out of.a.hat
I'm hoping for a Nadal Djokovic final being a 5 set epic, they are both at the top of their games atm and are two of the best athletes on the planet Womens tennis is **** a british player could win and I still wouldn't give a toss
I think there is more chance of us winning every game next season than Laura Robson winning Wimbledon. She might improve as time goes by but like all our women players she is too slow and weak.
I know, it's just that Hull Tiger said he couldn't care less if a female british player won, would be a shock if she did win a slam this year!
The sad thing about watching tennis is that I love the game but have never really found a British player I could support, or one who was good enough to win a Slam. Andy Murray will need several players to be injured or to have gigantic luck with the draw in a Slam one year to be able to win, and I don't like him anyway which is a bit unfortunate. I never really warmed to Henman and he was less of a player than Murray is. Rusedski came over as, well as a Canadian to me, he came close and I liked him at least. I just follow the best players now regardless of where they come from and with Nadal and Federer there are two of the greatest players ever to have played the game still about, with Nadal still got a few good years ahead if his knees hold out.
Laura Robson out in the first round of the French today v some clay court expert who I've never heard of, first time there so maybe could learn from the experience.
She was in as a lucky loser so that would be right. Not seen any of it but articles saying her movement is a weakness which is what I notice about her, probably needs a top class coach to sort that out if she is growing still too.
She isn't the quickest on the court is she, but yeah, with the right coaching she could be a top ten seed at least in the next few years
Well TaylorTiger, looks like Sharapova might pick up the title on Saturday against the unknown Italian, just watched her trounce Kvitova, great call that one mate! I really thought she lost focus with all her other interests but looks awesome at the minute. Djokovic still in the mens too. Hope you had a bet on them!
Unfortunately I'm 15 so I can't bet, but as the tournament went on I doubted my own favourites, I thought Tsonga was going to go on and beat Novak, Sharapova looks favourite to complete the Career Slam, Errani played quality against Stosur and good luck to her but her height may be her fault against Maria, Maria will just play wide flat balls all day and Errani won't have the size to compete, anyway, it's been a good tournament despite the rain, worse than England
I can't see Sharapova losing in the final but will watch anyhow. Djokovic has been a bit up and down but could still do it.
