With the money that was literally thrown at Keane, do you agree that most managers in his position would have also had us promoted?
Not the money he had initially and as Man City have proved the best players don't mean success as their last 2 seasons proved My point was, after the dibacle of the 2005 season, would you have imagined us winning the ****ing thing the next year around? Keane did that and FOR THAT ALONE, I'm grateful Not about great manager, good manager or owt, just about that 1st season
He spent 14 million, but he also got back 9 million in the 2006/07 season. Leeds spend 5 million and went down bottom. So its not just about cash. Anthony Stokes cost £2,600,000 and he wasnt exactly a roaring success.
Hey tithead, I'm on about the 1st season OK.. We had this ****e on the old 606 about Keane so read the ****ing post again and reply accordingly you ****ing Darlo twat
Yes, I'm grateful to Keane for what he did and it was a great journey that promotion season, but I honestly don't believe that ONLY Keane could have done it. The one thing that made made Keane unique was although not a great manager (of that most seem to concur) he did have charisma which almost certainly helped attract players who otherwise may not have come to us.
Hence my original comment, 'the corner had been already turned', he took a team low on spirit and high on talent (for the Championship) and Ricky did a good job This has been done to death, he is a **** manager as this has now been conclusively proved Yeah I have so now kindly **** off
As Nial said 'Box Office', the crowd loved it and it got everyone onboard, on the same page, that was NQ's masterstroke. Keane and Bruce future ManU managers apparently after the first good few games. Hearing the same **** about O'Neil now (ManU job excluded) but O'Neil has one difference, CREDENTIALS!!!!
For me Keane and Sunderland just didn't have the right chemistry...I just don't think that his undoubted arrogant persona was ever going to endear him to SAFC supporters..
Yes he did actually, he got us up and kept us in the Prem, a ****in TRUE legend if you ask me!! It was always RS's team(RK picked/bought them and RS made the old silk purse), the legend that is Roy just utilised his experienced coat tails. Is RS a manager no, always liked the guy but knew he wasn't cut out for it long term after seeing written on the tactics board after the Everton match and 'DO NOT LOSE' underlined at the top!!
Just ignore me lads, don't get to many days off looking after the girls.. My bad but will always remember that 1st Keane season for all the right reasons.. Apologies a bit pist..
When you get to my level of intelligence and see your family fall apart through health then come back and have a debate. When you have 93 amateur boxing wins to your belt then tell me I'm a prick I apologise for my hatred tonight, a mix of a night of freedom and to much alcohol.. We all do it OK?
