According to the EADT Wards decision is now between us and 1 other who i assume is burnley so that says somethin at least . Apparentley clogg wont be involved in the talks , that will be down to PJ and ME . I would like to think that ME is taking over the contract negotiations and not just because clogg is on his hols . coyb (next season)
Jeez even the Apprentice people are better at negotiating. Anyone spot the classic line last night from Stephen: 'I'm the kind of person who will make mistakes but then put it behind me, go to bed, wake up the next day and do it again' - ITFC all over
Spanish, I refer you to the following thread; http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...-need-in-charge-at-your-club-Football-Ipswich where I predict your current predicament. Talk ****e do I? (last August)
Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP As I understand the Joel Ward situation, Warnock wanted him, Ward was keen but #lufc can't or won't pay the fee at this moment All around rumours are suggesting the delay is he wants to join Leeds, lucky for everyone else we have a ****er called Bates in charge so you might get him yet.
Sounds like Palace are in with a shout, although have heard rumours they cannot meet personal demands that others can. I imagine Howe talks a good game but they will be losing their main man Rodriguez. A fair offer on the table alongside the Portman Road facilities should persuade him.
Yeah but no but yeah but no but...... To be honest, I now find this situation hilarious. The guy is the most indecisive person in football. Imagine if we do sign him and he turns out to be utter ****e Terrorwit, I apologise for my brash comments. However I expect more effort from you in your future wummery
Just read this about the Ward transfer saga:- The versatile Portsmouth man has been at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war between six Championship rivals â with Paul Jewell and Palace boss Dougie Freedman leading the chase. Now it appears it could be the south Londoners who are set to get their man â amid unconfirmed reports that the 22-year-old has agreed terms and completed a medical at Selhurst Park. I can confirm that Palace have become favourites for Wardâs signature, but the move has not been sealed â leaving Jewell with the opportunity to make a last-ditch attempt to persuade Ward to move to Portman Road. The fact Palace is closer to Wardâs home is understood to have played some part in his thinking â although he was impressed with Jewellâs track record in achieving promotion and owner Marcus Evansâ hunger to lead Ipswich into the Premier League. Ward was due to have a second meeting with the Town manager but it appears Palace have stolen a march on their divisional rivals. It remains to be seen whether Jewell makes a late play for one of his top targets or concedes defeat in the saga â having first made a move for Ward way back in January. How ****ing surprising is this, I tell ya, we couldn't get a starving Ethiopian into Mcdonalds!! At least leeds had a valid excuse which was they couldn't afford him, us......... people just don't want to sign for us and all the money in the world can't change that!!
the lad clearly doesn't want to go to ipswich. you were the first club to try and sign him, way back in january, you're still in the hunt for him... its not as if he hasn't had time to think about a move to ipswich and what it would bring! it seems as though you're the last resort to be honest so ipswich clearly don't impress him or he'd have signed for you by now. doesn't mean others will think the same way though
Supers The problem is, our manager and ceo are so ****ing clueless they didn't realise after the SECOND 'NO' that he really didn't want to come!! I think we were a last resort.
In many ways I think it is refreshing that he is not just chasing the money, which would be a 2 second decision but it does make you wonder how you can analyse something so much. its not really a life or death decision - if he makes the wrong move he can put in a transfer request and move on in january
I think if I was from Portsmouth and had the choice between the two I would go for Palace, the guy still lives at home and this way he could stay there. In recent years we have always struggled to bring players to our sleepy backwaters in Suffolk, thats just the way it is, people don't just look at the club or the manager they look at what their life will be in that area, hence why a lot of players (especially northern) will end up playing for a host of Yorkshire and Lancashire clubs because they are settled. As a 22 year old lad, probably about to sign a 3 or 4 year deal it's a pretty big deal for him and taking his time is natural, and anyone giving him grief needs to realise it is a big decision that requires the lengthy process... That said, he is doing my head in. I'd just like to know either way
It would be mildly disappointing if we didn't get him in. However, I know this sounds crazy but here me out. How about we sign a centre back or two? Yeah, I know I'm ****ing crazy me, woooo wooo pulls y-fronts over head and runs round in circles clucking like a chicken
Ward has said that he wants to join a club that would be making a serious push for promotion next year so he goes and joins Palace! That sure says a lot about how we are percieved! The guys that have renewed their season tickets deserve a ****ing medal or prozac!
The Ipswich media seem to be the ones harping on about Ipswich's chances of getting him. I am sure he would have signed for Ipswich by now had he wished to join. At least you guys have the funds to go for another target, seems like Leeds are screwed once again by Papa Smurf
