Just because it reads like that in the article doesn't mean thats how it went in the interview though. I agree with you that he is not very diplomatic in this interview but sometimes I think we expect too much from people especially when I would imagine he is being bombarded for his opinions on this. I actually think he will probably regret saying some of those things because whilst a little unprofessional I am not sure you could call it bashing.

    Fair enough mate

Dave Whelan being unkind to us again! ;)

Sky sports reporting that Martinez will meet our owners in 36 hrs now, thought he was in Barbados!!!!

Wasn't Kenny on a cruise when the owners called him up to take over from Hodgson?

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan confirms that Roberto Martinez is in America to talk to the Liverpool owners over their vacant manager's position. Speaking to BBC Sport he says: "Roberto is in Miami today and you can only assume what he's gone there for [to talk to the Liverpool owners]. I'd expect to hear back from him in the next 48 hours or so." More to follow on the website shortly.

I don't think any of you/us are in a position to criticise Dave Whelan, if every Club had an Owner like him, Football would be in a far healthier position.

I may be wrong but for me its more an indictment of 24hr media coverage than Whelan being a tosspot, no doubt he is not being very clever with it though!

Think he is only doing what most employers would do when faced with losing a top employee ,rubbish their prospective new employers and then when it looks likely that that person will still go try and force the issue by giving ultimatums. By going on tv he is just making it more public and trying to turn up the pressure on FSG.
Don't think there is too much in that article to get worked up about. Think he is resigned to Martinez going (somewhere) and wants to sort his next manager out. It. Maybe that he has someone in mind but is worried they will not be available when he is ready to make his move
