24/05/2012 by David McIntyreQPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has been told he can begin running next week as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.Faurlin, whose campaign was ended when he suffered cruciate ligament damage against MK Dons in January, is on course to return for the start of next season. The Argentine has been using an anti-gravity treadmill as part of his rehabilitation and is now ready to take to the training pitch at Harlington, where he is spending most of his summer.âNext week I think I will start to run outside, which is great news for me,â Faurlin told West London Sport.âIâm excited about it â really looking forward to it. Itâs great that I will be able to get out there.âIâve been running [on the anti-gravity treadmill] and have been building up slowly. Things are going really well.âhttp://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/boost-for-qpr-as3-faurlin-steps51-up-recovery/?
Faurlin was reckoned to be back towards the end of the year, I don't think he will be ready for the start of the season but could be just what we need as a lift during mid-season. I would rather he take another couple of months and be 100% than rush back and be crocked. We don't need another Dyer!
He divided opinion on here before his injury but I can't think of a better midfielder we've had in 20 years.
